New Kristen Exhaust Tips

Got the new exhaust tip last night when I came home from work. I get home around 11:30 early for me. That didn't stop me from putting them on and going for a ride!

Pros:
-Awesome finish
-Nicely machine
-Fixes my harmonic issues - They sound PERFECT!
-They weed out the highs and keep the lows with no whistling. Very hooligan and I keep my hearing at the end of the day.
-Shoots exhaust stink and black carbon past the bike so I don't get it on the license plate. fender or lights.
-Awesome finish

Cons:
-The mating surface OD is tad under size and does not press fit into the pipe (my measurements given). I'll drill and tap a thumb screw into the side to secure it permanently with some yamabond.

That would be his error Kristen...He supplied the specs Possibly too much Jazz music playing in garage when he was thinking up and making the drawings for the pipes

Great work to you by the way

-nos igintion and locks - Installed - Just looks better
-great shape oem rotor - Installed - Smooth braking
-great shape oem brake caliper - Installed - No more unwanted grabbing
-CL center stand - Installed - Works!
-NOS clutch springs - Installed - No Clutch slippage
-oem starter - Installed to the parts shelf for now
-oem forks - Installed - Rebuilt and installed
-oem stator and generator coil - Installed - Charging system is go!
-New 50/50 Shinko Tires - Smoother ride

After making these upgrades, I couldn't be more happy with the performance upgrades. Rebuilt the forks with new seals and the front end is much more stable. In fact, I feel the need to get new springs for the CB750 now. With the brakes not grabbing, lighter/less aggressive tires, and dialed in carbs to perfection (chocolate brown color) lately, I might have a 90 mph bike? I'm pretty sure I can get 85 no problem, as I easily got 82 on the way to work last week. McCrimmon, Lets go for a short trip this weekend. I'd like a witness to hopefully hit 90 mph run.

Yeah, but can you beat the 919s and the 600s?

Someday, I will have the time to do something like this. Until then, thank you for letting us "live vicariously" through your pictures and write-ups!

Yes actually, next week I am taking a vacation in upper New York. If it's not a rain washout, I'll be doing some trail riding around the Indian Lakes near the Thousand Islands. Compared to my last set they are light years smoother. I'll post some pictures in couple weeks.

Upgraded to Repsol full synthetic 20W-50 racing oil

Was worried about impact on older engine, and no feedback on Vintage forums

Without metrics and maybe I'm just imagining this...

-Idles faster - adjusted idle screw back 50-100 rpm
-Valves quieter and engine more smooth at all temps
-Less breather smoke at high temps
-Shifts better when hot
-Clutch is more smooth, does not grab suddenly

Question:

Is Amsoil better? More slick? -People rave about it-

I don't ever know what the bottle looks like or were to buy it.

IMO all of the high end quality Synthetics will perform about the same.

I have a real newbie question:

How did you disconnect the tachometer cable at the engine? Is the little screw right by where it connects what does it? Mine is somewhat stripped and I don't want to fight it if I don't have to!
