My instruments came back today and they are gorgeous! It will be a bit before I know how well they work, but they were working pretty well when I took them off. They just looked bad and one had a smashed bezel and cracked glass. It's one more thing done!

I'm getting flashbacks !
My 71 Norton that I bought as a written off wreck in late 72 and rebuilt over the winter. One of the Smiths was trashed, but the guts were OK. It's been so long I can't remember if it was the tach or speedo. Anyway, I went to some place in Toronto, and got back a repair/rebuild that looked like new out of the box. Thankfully these needed skills have not totally died and been lost forever.
I'm sorry, I can't get the picture to work. I'll try again later.
I wonder if you are facing what I did until I got some help.
1
Be sure you are using a file format that the site will accept.
2
You camera generated picture file will be way too big.
I know there are better ways to do it, but someone showed me an easy way to get the file size down.
Select a picture, use the windows feature to e mail it, and you'll get a prompt to shrink it or not. Go for shrink.
You can do a file save of the shrunken file, but rename it so you don't get file conflicts.
Try posting the shrunken picture.
Here are a few more. I walked by the Morgan and wondered why there was a case of oil in the cockpit, the 3 quart puddle under the front bumper explained it.

I just got in from being out of town. I'll try that tomorrow. Thanx.

I've got a '79 Triumph T 140 Special that's been sitting for about 10 years. Joe Lucas decided to take a break back then, and I just parked it, not realizing so much time would pass without me touching it again.
My buddy bought my bike new from Free State Cycles in Bladensburg Md and I bought it from him in about '82 or '83.
I've got the best of intentions regarding this bike, but they've not produced much in the way of results, unfortunately.
Maybe I'll at least get enough ambition to get a couple photos and post'em on your thread.
Hi all, I haven't been on the forum for a while, but it occurred to me that I should follow up. I'll try to get the pic thing figured out soon.
I have more stuff getting powder coated. I'm eager to see how that comes back. I have also started on the engine. It seems to be in very sound condition and it appears that no one has ever gone in to the bottom end. I'm really grateful to find things in such good order. I need to get my buddy at the machine shop to measure the crank journals to make sure that I can go back with standard sized bearings. I'll replace the main bearings (roller) and all the seals while I'm in there. All of the bronze bushings seem to have had very little wear. I'll probably leave them alone. I haven't had the sludge trap out yet. Hopefully in the next day or so if I can steal the time. I also decided to have all of the cadmium plated parts re-plated professionally. They came back very nice.
If you are on Facebook you can go to Login | Facebook and see some pics.
It's going to be a bike again! I just know it!!

Heres a pic of my TR6. Theres a long story behind it. The short version is my Dad is the original owner and he bought it back in 1966 in East Los Angeles. Now at 84 he has trouble kicking it so he pasted it on to me. As you can see it needs some work but is currently running and rideable

That looks REAL nice !
From the looks of it, the only working on it needed is riding it.
