Looking for new old parts

Hey guys,

My dad currently rides a 1981 Suzuki GS850L. He bought it new then and to my knowledge, hasn't replaced anything but tires oil and batteries.

Last night he asked if I could get ahold of a set of rear shocks for it. I have been looking around and oldbikebarn has some but they're quite a bit of coin. ebay had a set, but they look worse then what he has.

Any sources out there I can check out? Thanks.

I don't know what size it is, or condition, but I know there's some older kawais and suzukis in my father-in-law's junk yard. I'll go rummaging through this weekend.

Appreciate it. I should give a call over to Sport Wheels as well. Was hoping to find something newish but not too expensive. I will probably end up having to buy them for him. 30 year old dampers are breaking his back these days.

Several years ago I bought a set of Progressive shocks for my '77 GS750 from Dennis Kirk, not sure if they're made for the 850 though.

Strange, they didn't come up in a google search, but sure enough, they have a set for $214. That's getting in the ballpark, of course they are not in stock.

Wow, the dollar sucks. £146.56 = $240

Gonna stop by a shop after work today. See what they can do. Maybe get a part number and search on that.

Thanks for the input guys

*EDIT* searching for GS850GL brought up a ton more results. About 100.2% sure his is just an L. Not sure what if any differences exist.
