Men, I love the FJ1200 and the Trophy. The FJ was I believe the 1st of the Brute Sports Tourers. Both bikes are super sharp.

I did exactly that. I sold the 919 to PVster and bought a 2000 VFR800. Great bike, recommend it. Right in your price range also. good luck.

I've got my bike listed locally and I've received some nibbles but no bites. I have it listed at 2,999. I'm thinking about either a bandit or an FZ1 but i might end up just keeping it over the winter, reupholstering the seat, and seeing how things go next spring.

I used to hang out there when the road was gravel and there was three other giant Oaks around it.

Looking and being back again weekend after next - maybe we'll have to meet at Jones Powersports and take a ride, central Missouri has some awesome backroads!

What would I like? A shaft driven bike with the rear wheel power of the busa. That ain't out there. After a lot of research for a sport touring bike I have settled on two. The VFR1200 and the FJR1300. FJ kicks ass on the value but I have decided to stick with the 919. I will have a 17t front, givi sideracks and hardbags by next spring. I will say I roasted my arse off this summer (hot days of 85+) when riding a faired bike so I will stick with the 919 for a couple years till a good deal comes my way. Not sure on the Corbin, i'll have to try one before I drop the dollars....Good luck

As fun as that sounds, I might not have a bike by then. I am meeting someone in KC with the bike to possibly purchase. But hit me up and let me know for sure!

I moved on to a VFR 1200.

I would say its better than is 919 ridability in every way. Handles way better, more power (not that u need it), brakes WAYYYYY better, more comfortable, i could go on. I would say its the most perfect bike ive ever ridden.

Only thing i miss on my 919 is the easy wheelieability and ease of maintence (and price!). And the naked looks i kinda miss, but the wind proection on the vfr wayyy makes up for it.

Very nice looking bike. Do you have touring bags for it? I'ver heard the Honda ones are pretty pricey. Didn't know if there were any aftermarket set-ups yet.

Some people who "tour" do not appreciate the added "sound" that aftermarket canisters create.

Me, I like the "tone", as well as the few extra ponies they produce.

You are putting my younest son's college education at great risk by posting that picture of the VFR. Shame on you.

You should consider the V-strom. I went to a vstrom 650 after my 919 and I'm very happy. I liked the looks of the 919 better but it is super comfortable and fun to ride. Definitely slower than a 9er but not as much as you might think. The only thing it's not good for is real high speed riding. Mine will cruise all day at 80 but the aerodynamics were not made for tripple digits.

Yep --- think people have hit it on the head..... if I only had $3500.... Yep --- '02 or newer Fuel Injected Blackbird would be at the top of my list....... next to a 1998 gear driven cam VFR800.

Now......if I had NO budget....KTM 990 SMT......The bike 'looks' heavy ---- but its just a tad over 430 pounds dry. My MAIN complaint with KTM is that the accessories in their 'HARD PARTS CATALOG' for their bikes are priced crazy high and there isn't a huge 3rd party aftermarket for most of their models.
