Running out of Hiding Places

one main problem with naked bikes is having fewer places to hide aftermarket components. right off the top of my head, i'm already hiding: PCIII, Ignition Module, CAN controller, Nitrous window switch, nitrous bottle, solenoids, aux. fuel pump and pressure regulator, Speedo Healer, nitrous heater, wiring, and switch, and the yards and yards of wiring and plumbing therein. at least. i'm sure there's more.

pushing a 100-shot of juice, and having experienced some starting difficulties, i decided i wanted more spark energy. DYNA sells new compact coils, but in my mind, i'm not going to the trouble of messing with perfectly good Honda stuff to install a compact version of anything. so i ordered their traditional high energy coils. so....where to hide them? should i sew a holster into my leathers with wires running in and out? that's about the only space i have left !

here are pics of the mockup on my other 919..."Dorothy". i procured some used parking signs from work and cut them to a rough shape with a die grinder. clamped one side of them in a reinforced vise and hammered 'em with a rubber mallet for one bend on each. i may play with the shape a bit more, but i'm not too concerned about it.

it's been too long... i could use a booster shot.

"That fits right in and should compliment your oil catch pan! "
its name IS "The Tinman". this mod SEEMS appropriate.

think i'll pick up a MPH of trap speed with my hi-aero efficient bodywork?

i like the part where i'm going to leave the reflective parking sign info on the backside. it's so blatantly junk yard dog, if you come up and take a peek.

i wonder how strong the crimps are that hold the radiator end tanks on ?
wouldn't THAT be a cool sight? both plates, coils, and radiator end tanks coming flying off in a 140 mph breeze?

Probably OK - the aftermarket plastic shields that sit in the same area are held in by the radiator bolts at the front.

sure, easy for you to say. you're not the one contemplating having 200 degree coolant dumped in your lap (and on your rear tire) at 140mph. but that's going to be how i approach it ! "probably okay, until proven otherwise"

How did you mount the grinder on the left side in the first pic?!
That could come in handy for on the spot repairs/fabricating! J/K! LOL!!

if i hadn't cropped those pix so close, you'd REALLY see what a mess my shop is !

i'm originally from the east coast. when you asked about the grinder i mounted, i started looking for a hoagie.
