NEW BIKE

I finally got my CBX, It's a dog, with a siezed motor, but I've stripped the motor to find a bent rod, and no other apparent damage, though there is some debris in the pan.
I got it cheap, $2000, but it has a lot of potential.

Theres one local to me, if you need engine parts I might be able to help. I'm not sure what was wrong with the extra motor they had for it...but they did swap it out for some reason. Hit me up in a private message once you figure it out.

Dang these cbx threads are getting to me. Are they really worth that much? There's a 79 near me for 3500, original owner and running.

You can't lose anything by just checking it out. Who knows.........you may clamp on it or somebody else here might "Shmoo"ze it up!!!!!

Phob..........that's a splendid project. Damn nice looking neighborhood, by the way!

They seem to have become the desirable collectable and for good reason, If you can get a nice one for $3500 you should go for it, on ebay they go for $6000-$10000
Thanks for the congrats guys, I have a fairly classy garage at the moment, 919, GS1000. CBX.

If it is the original owner there's more a chance of the pipes being stock as well as the rest of the bike.
And it runs ?
If it looks at all decent, and is fairly stock, 3500 is a steal in my mind.

It all seems to be there and looking not bad.
How does one bend one rod on a CBX ?
And not bend anything else ?
All things considered, it does sound like you got a really good deal.
Good luck with it.

If I remember correctly, it's a ZX-10 front end on that X. Does that bike belong to anyone on WT?? I can't remember where I found that photo, but I've been drooling since the first time I saw it.

^ assumption was a leaky petcock / bad float seal that leaked fuel into no. one cylinder then tried to crank over and essentially hydrolocked the motor.... sounds very plausible to me!

and MY GOD THAT IS A CLEAN MOTOR!

Hey, Phobman! If you end up developing a removable centerstand for the CBX, let me know! I'll be the first in line!
