Alright!! It looks like I'll be back on the road soon enough. All I gotta do is replace the tank (don't really have to, actually, since it does not leak), fab up some type of bracket for the Instrument Cluster, wire her up, and she's ready.
If I cut out the housing for the ignition tumbler, at the front of the upper triple, then I can move that light about 1" further back, which would be ideal. But I think I'll leave it for now, since I plan to do a RC51 fork swap in the future.
hey rob... bmiller has some rc51 forks for sale.... i think...
Thanks for the heads up. The thing is, I don't want to do it now. I want to get back on the road ASAP!!!
Besides, I just put all this money into the front, from RaceTeching, Wheels, Galfers, and now this... that if I did the RC51, I would have to redo EVERYTHING. >>> New Forks (of course), wheels, Galfers, Brakes, etc., etc...
So I'm gonna hold off on the RC51 for at least another 6 months. It needs it, though. The Brutale looks kinda funny sticking out in front of the (skinny) stock forks, imo.
That looks pretty sweet. If it were me I'd take the stickers off the fork protecters to make it a little cleaner.
Are those clubman bars? I was thinking of buying a Suzuki TU250 and cafe it out with something like that.
Yep, they're Clubmans. They stretch me out a bit to much, but I plan to buy risers that will take it up and back 1". I think once I have it mounted in that location, I can adjust the Clubmans into a better position.
Reminds me of the guy down the road with the "Honey for sale" sign in his yard... Under that sign is another sign that says "no honey for sale". Why not just take down the first sign?
Instead of putting a set of bars on, that move you foreward and down, only to put on a riser that moves them up and back; just get a regular set of bars.
Coming together nicely, as to clubman bars I was working at Ace Cycle World must have been 77 or 78 we had a fellow right in front of the shop have one whole side pop off at the weld. I've been leary of the concept ever since . If they were mine they'd have to be Xray'd or magnafluxed to put my mind at ease.
Gotta like a livingroom with 5 helmets , a bike, a couch and a TV !!!!!
Sir, my hats off to you.....................M

The 1" up/1" back risers may bring it back just enough that I can work with it. The Clubmans move me forward over 1", so the riser brings it back just a bit.
My friend, Aboo007 came by with his 919, which has these risers, and we seem to both agree that that extra bit will make the difference, as we mock tested it. It'll be more of a standard sportbike stretch, but a bit higher, with these risers.
I gotta try it, or we'll never know. I like the cafe-racer-ish look of using the Clubmans, so I want to give it a go and find out. If anything, and I end up not liking it, I'll just swap them out again. I mean why not?... I've already gone through 4 handlebar configs since I got the bike! Just like to change it up every now and then.

It sounds like you need a pair of these:

During this "Hell of a Year", I've been refining the design until it became producable (very important) and satisfied my vision (much more important, and a heck of a lot harder to do!), so here it is.
A comparison between Renthal Ultra Lows and my design.
To the left is an example of the height attainable similar to the originating post. The point is the risers can be placed either inside the clamps for low and narrow, or outside if you are looking for more everyday riding. It must be stated that my preference is as low and narrow as possible (DUH!), but you may not be as hard core as me.
Whoopee, right? What use is a picture, or even a digital file? Hold on to your skivvies:
The tubing I'm using is 7/8ths" .049" wall 316 stainless, primarily due to my extensive experience with it, it's corrosion resistance, a cost only about 8% higher than 4130 steel, and superior properties for this application.
The design is specifically for lots of adjustability, in fact the stub the actual handle part of the handlebars attaches to is angled to the centerline of the clamp enabling turning them around for flatter bars. Unless you are making major adjustments the only tool needed is a 6mm allen wrench. Also, I'm worknig on spacer pieces to obviate the need for drilling the bars for every minor change until you are satisfied with the position. These will be available separately for anyone installing bars of any description (as soon as I line up a supplier).
Follow the link to the whole post and let me know what you think.
Infinitely adjustable, made of the finest materials available, and completely sourced from local suppliers -- gotta support the local economy! Order today and know handlebar Nirvana.
I had clubmans for a while and liked them. I am running a slightly swept back drag bar now that is 27 in wide. i think I like it a bit better. The only part about the clubmans I didn't like was my head position. I had to bend up at the neck to much to look forward.

Same deal here. That's why if I install the swept-back riser, it'll put it in just the right spot.
