*IMPORTANT*Honda 919 with Circuit 1 pulser cover owners:

A production error by Circuit 1 has resulted in one or more of the company's billet pulser covers for the 919 being distributed w/o the internal tab that holds the oil sealing plug in place. Without that tab, the oil sealing plug can fall out and engine oil pressure will be lost.

The right side of the photograph below shows the inside of the stock pulser cover with the referenced tab clearly visible in the vicinity (just left and below) of the upper right-hand bolt hole. The Circuit 1 unit is on the left, and can be seen to not have the required tab.

Consider checking the interior of your Circuit 1 billet pulser cover to confirm your unit displays the oil sealing plug tab.

If it does not, contact the vendor and do not run the engine until you reinstall the stock pulser cover.

UPDATE:

...response from the Circuit 1 distributor to the question of how many other 919 pulser covers lacking the oil sealing plug tab might have been sold and shipped:

Quote:
No, it looks like yours was the only one...he had 4 others in stock though,
machined the same way, but when you called about your issues, he recycled
them and had the new ones made.

What happened was he ran the wrong program on the machine when he ran the
batch that yours came out of. It was an older version and he thought it was
the current version. Thus he knows it was his mistake and all, but thankful
that only one went out like that, which was yours.

This is a delayed post-script to the subject addressed in the two previous posts on the subject of the difficulty I experienced with a Circuit 1 pulser cover...

Once they were notified of the problem, Mark DeGross, the retailer at Trademark Motorsports, and the Circuit 1/Billet Tech representative, Steve Stallman, moved quickly to investigate the issue and make things right.

Although it was unfortunate I received a pulser cover with a critical defect in it, they took care to communicate frankly about the problem, take appropriate responsibility for the snafu, and supply a correct replacement cover quickly.

If you read Tom's post there were only four and they fixed the other ones. The post was from May 2008 so that would be your year, although it could have been put on pretty much any year bike I would guess. The manufacturer says they fixed the others before sale.
