Got my 07 in May of 07 like firedave. They put it on the floor of the showroom 1 day before i bought it. Had 1 mile on it when i picked it up. Have loved every minute since!

Next month will mark my first year with it. gawked for a few years, really am enjoying, still amazed how much it appeals to me in the looks dept after coming from full fairing. dont see much of a replacement until a used market hopefully brings down the price for a cb1000, or i have toyed with a VFR800 since I mostly commute, wouldnt mind some wind protection, storage, and a loss of stink.

I signed the deal for my 05 on my birthday in 05, as in during the still snowy season we have here.

And my dear sweet wife will also tell you that I've been spending $ on it ever since.
But the build is just about done now, noting the accumulated parts yet to be mounted.
I'll have this bike forever.

Well, I did notice in your picture that you don't have rearsets yet. Your niner would love to be treated to some Rizoma's. It's like fine jewelery. She doesn't care that your knees might not like it. It like fine jewelery. I'm sure one of the adjustable positions would work for you.

The only repositioning I can consider is lower.
Nothing higher.
The GSXR is a real problem for me, my lap counts are dictated by what my knees can take.
I run the pegs in the lowest position, and had to change to a super stock tail so I could use the factory seat to maximize the peg to seat distance.
The 919 is far more comfortable for me to hustle on, even though the physical effort needed is greater.
The Corbin seat has been a big help too, it gives me at least another inch of seat height over stock.
Even with the high seat and low pegs, the knee is nicely down before the peg is even near touching.
A nice set of Riz or Satos would be really nice to look at, but it won't ever be happening to my bike.
I'm paying the price for a soccer injury from a long time ago.

Bought my 02 in 07, but it remained bone stock untill it was forced into track duty this year due to selling my track bike and not finding a replacement. It's all good, I have really got to know this bike, and finally spent money on it, upgraded suspension, got those ugly turn signals off. Got the Givi windscreen and engine guards.
Bike looks 100% better.

I have the Sato rearsets, they will probably come off when I stop using the bike on the track to help my knees. The Corbin seat sounds like a good option.
My stock pegs dragged, replaced the feeler (bolt?) with a flat head screw and that helped some, but ended up with Sato's.

I bought a 06 Honda 599 this past august to get back into street riding after a 6 year break. Then two months later (Oct) my friend called me wanting to sell his 02 919. He bought it new in 02 and just did not ride it. It had only 4800 miles and it was bone stock still. My last two bikes were 900’s so I did miss that extra torque and power. And He even suggested that I take it home and try it out. After that I had to have it! So I have only had my 919 since Oct. 2011 logging only 600 miles on it but I already love it! Now that it is winter I plan on bolting on some aftermarket goodies so that I am not such a stock jock come this next riding season. And this web site is defiantly overly helpful with ideas!

December 1st, 2007... 0 miles on the clock, and I've known her for almost 50k miles. She's my little slut, she lets ride her as long as hard as I want, and since I take care of her, I know she'll let me keep on riding her hard!
