Honda 919 Decal Question!

I am wondering if any of the 919's decals in the various colors and years are without any kind of background? My 2003 Smoke has a semi color matching background to it and my wife's 599 is the same! I am thinking of doing custom paint on both bikes (white w/purple pearl for sure on hers) and want the stock decals (preferably the Honda & wings and the 919/599 if possible) back on but from what I can tell these decals are all color matched to some degree, is this right??? At this time painting the logos or having custom decals cut are not what I prefer but may HAVE to go that way? Let me know what my options are fellow 9er's!!!!!!! Thanks........

All the decals have matching background. I have yet to find one that matches my white nicely. Most decent I got was the smoke of the 03 model with chrome wings/logo...but it was still unsatisfactory. I would like clear background and black chrome wings/logo. Custom may be the way unless you can accept the various OEM color backgrounds currently available.

White with purple pearls is hot, but common especially on cars. But on moto, sickkkk. Post pictures when done!

Hornet Graphic?

Does anyone have a larger copy of this Hornet logo? I am wanting to see about getting it airbrushed on and need a REALLY good copy of it! This is the ONLY copy I have and it is SO small. Just send it to me at woody469@gmail.com ...Thanks again......

They're still in the works

I believe we're working on the details of getting them out to the people.
(setting up pricing and a system for distribution)

We need a little more time to get the kinks worked out.

I've been wondering about 919 decals myself! I'd like to get one for the back window of my car, to put right next to the Honda decal and the AMA decal and the HRCA decal. Wish they came in white die-cut. I like the original design. Sure, I could have the decal place make a couple, but would they look exactly like the ones on the bike? I doubt it.

Oh, here's a novel idea for something I should do: Ask the freakin' dealer!

There is no doubt the 919 decals are out there in case a guy gets his bike painted but I haven't seen them online. I see Hornet decals a lot, especially on ebay and amazon.

One last comment here: I keep wishing Honda would have put large chrome 919 emblems on the side covers rather than some cheezy decal on the top of the bike that nobody can see when they are next to you at a light! Heck, I have at least 5 people a day ask me "What kind of bike is that?" or "What size is that?". A cool chrome emblem would have been sweet, on the sides!

here is a better idea.... read the whole post first..... the ones that honda makes is color matched to the bike. the wing might be the right color for you but the background is all wrong. honda does not have a backround color to match a white bike. or anyother custom color for that matter.
so at that.

Geez, 3d, I didn't mean to ruffle your feathers!

Sounds like you got all upset because I posted a simple reply. If YOU read MY post you will see that I didn't think the stock decals work and I mentioned going to a decal place and getting die-cut. So why slam me just because I said I would like to find a decal from a dealer? Are you saying if I walked into a Honda dealer and ordered a replacement decal that it would have a red background? Okay, so why can't I stick it on my red car? Let's all just get along!

Closest I've found so far, and some of the Honda wings have clear backgrounds! I'm no expert (ask 3d) but I'm thinking some of the wings on this site must be pretty close to the original 919/Hornet's Honda wings. I'm still looking for the "919" decals. I'm going to guess that some die-cut decal maker out there realized he could get rich by making 919 decals with no background color.

I checked out this site, they offer some really cool stuff but still no "919" decals! I did however e-mail them with requests so we will see how they respond!

No, you just buy 1 each of the 22" wide ones!

Just kidding. Seriously, I didn't notice that part. Sucks. They should offer them individually in all sizes. I see what you mean though, you would have to buy 2 pairs in order to get 1 reversed. But hey, you would always have a spare set for later or to sell to your friends for what you paid for the pairs.

I spent the last hour Googling 919 decals, emblems, stickers, and every other combo but nothing! That's all I want: the 919's. I think I'll just find (or take) a picture of the 919 logo/decal and take it to a decal place up the road and have some made. Sure, it may cost $20 but it would be worth it. Most of those decal places save the designs in their computer in case someone else wants the same thing (but charge each new customer a "set-up fee").
