Curiosity question
Will the CBR1000RR cams fit in the 919?
Will the 900rr cams fit in the 919?
Just being curious for future reference and possible parts list for a street peeler build.
Thanks -- Bobby

dude.... jus slap a turbo on it and be done with it! for the amount of $$ and time you'd put into swapping out cams and every related item to said cam swap, you'd get no where near the gain that you will get with a turbo for the same amount of $$

Bike will not get a turbo because it looks to good to destroy like that. When the time comes I will gently massage another engine and do a swap. I am just wanting a little better running 919 with its original looks.
All this depends on whether she decides to ride again and if she does then the 919 will stay as is.
It is all just questions on what interchanges between Honda's
Thanks == Bobby

Umm... Check out that link for the turbo... go to design objectives and read about "appearance"

954 swingarm bolts onto the engine case. Not even close to a bolt in swap, major diffences in design.
Swapping cams might be possible, but the 919's throttle bodies are small compated to liter bikes. The 919 was built for lower rpm & tq so swaping in a cam built for high rpm wont really get u anywhere.
Go for a bigger bore and custom ground cams. Try to increase on the tq numbers thats what i would aim for.

......... +1!!!!
bobby, just look at the link! it still retains the stock look and people wont even be able to tell it's a turbo unless they know exactly what they're looking for.

If I ever turbo again it will be one of of the Kaws and probably be the ZRX1200 again.
Looks like it is gonna be some custom ground cams when it happens. Little bumpsticks that can be made for what I would like it to do.
If I leave the 919 alone and divert all $ to the ZRX then I will have a toy that I still do not ride.

that's because you'll be riding the HONDA and having a ball on it!
bet your wife would never be able to tell a turbo was installed on the following 919. just think of how much MORE fun you'd have on that HONDA!

PV just doing a quick look I notice nothing but it sure would be interesting to see how it was done
Drew I did a quick search on cams and other than custom made came up zero. There was quite a bit on Bucky and it has been a long time since I saw him post.
Wonder what happened to him?
