Cherry Amaretto Preserves

Well, last time it was for some Honey and Apple butter and this past Friday's trip rewarded me with some mighty tasty Cherry Amaretto Preserves. Yumm! I think I might have to make this a tradition on all of my day trips, to pick up some kind of spread or jelly.

I'm not in the mood to put this into some Kerouac prose or fancy adjectives and simile's, so it's just laid out.

Anyway, took the 9er down to Madison, IN yesterday (the long way) from Indianapolis, saw some interesting sights, rode some pretty damn good roads, and ate some good grub, once again a fun Friday road trip. I love going on trips by myself, not having to worry about waiting/catching up to others, stopping, complaining, etc... Just myself and my motorcycle doing what I enjoy most; being a solitary wanderer.

The route I took, if any of you Indy riders are interested was: I74 E to US 421 South into Versailles, then onto 129 to IN-62 (which is a great, twisting with no traffic/gravel/police road. then onto IN 250 for a spell before getting back onto IN 62 into China! The Great Wall is the biggest rip-off in history. It looks so much bigger on TV than in person. (I digress)
IN 62 through China meets back up with US 421 S into Madison, IN. I didn't get a chance, due to time, to take the full trip which would have had me taking IN 56E to Rising Sun and surrounding country twisties, but I guess that give my wandering soul an excuse to return and let my tires do the talking of the road.

Pics below are as follows:

#1- God Bless America! Get yourself a cut, a shave, and don't forget the hollow points on your way out! Greensburg, IN

2- This little river followed the length of IN 62 making for a lot of scenic pictures to take, but this was the one that turned out best.

3- Kinda hard to see, but just some twisting of IN 62

4- I am a lover of the tobacco plant, more for cigars than anything and up until yesterday I had never even seen one in person. They had fields of them just like fields of corn. IN 250 Canaan, IN.

5- Worst Great Wall ever.

6- The bridge to Kin-Tuckie (Made my way over despite the construction) The first noticeable difference was the doubling of beater trucks with loud exhausts and hunting equipment in the beds driving down the road. Will definitely have to do some more exploring down there.

7- in Madison, IN
8- US 421 S into Madison was a pretty couple miles after getting off IN 62.
9- Not a very good pic, but I just kinda like the old shop buildings in Madison.
10- The end result of my travels.

Great looking ride. I often finding myself riding long distances for obscure food. I think the last time was about some cheese.

Hmm, that would be good, though in the upper 80's and 3 or so hours from home, I dunno how long that cheese would last. Unless it's Fomunda cheese.

My first thought. But I found the last big old hunk of Stilton Blue Cheese in a little deli store about 35 miles away from home on a light ride and wanted a killer grilled steak that night. The shop owner double wrapped it and put it into a ziplock bag of ice and then into another bag... And I never asked or thought about it until she handed it to me.

She pointed to my riding jacket and said it happens all the time..
