So....I sold my blue and yellow 919/945 about a month ago....And upgraded. Been kinda lazy posting about it. Installed an Akroprovic full open, PC5, Shorai battery, integrated tail light and made a tidy tail. Dropped 24lbs (used race car scales). She is incredible. More power than my bike with the 945 kit and cams. Better feel and suspension all around. Ordered a few small blue items from Pro-bolt to add to the few blue pieces already on the bike. Levers and an HID headlight kit are next. The only thing I am having a hard time finding are flush mount from turn signals....
Was wondering if you sold the 945 beast. Congrats on the new ride. You say it has more power? Magazine dynos were putting out numbers like 107HP. I thought that a little light even for a "retuned" 1000rr motor. What do you think?
No plan survives first contact...but there's always a plan.
More all around power than the 945. I think the 945 felt like it had more "stump pulling" torque but the 1000r is so smooth. The 945 had just under 120 on the dyno. I have read that with the same setup I have the 1000r should run 130 on the dyno. We will see. In a few weeks I will get it tuned. Have a good map but under 2K rpm she runs a bit rough. I rode it back to back with an 08 CBR1000rr (power commander/ign commander and pipe) and it is down on power to that but not so much as to make me want more. I don't think I will be touching the motor on the 1000r. It has not left me wanting. The akro sounds awesome and the bike is so nimble compared to the ol' 9er. The only thing I do notice is the foot-pegs are higher (less leg room than 919) other than that the bike is perfect!
