Buell X1 Lightning 1200??

There is a guy that wants to trade his Buell X1 for one of my quads.
It is an 2002 with 13,000 miles, anyone know if they are any good or if they have any major issues with them? I don't know anything about Buells, not sure what he is asking outright for a price yet, if anyone could give some insight of a yah or nah, i would appreciate it.
Here is a link to it on craigslist, he doesn't have really information on it.

I don't know anything about Buells but if it helps the Kelly Blue book says the trade in value (what a dealer would give you) is $2325 and the resale value (what a dealer would ask) is $3415.
It's strange that he does not post a price in his ad and that he says he can't afford the bike anymore because he just bought a truck but wants to trade for a quad?

I thought the same thing, maybe he expects me to pay a little cash if we did trade.
But my quad is about the same value as the bike is though.

Question is, do you REALLY like the bike? Because if you don't, you'll find yourself wanting to get rid of it. For less than you got it for.

Think of what other things you could get with the quad cash, is that more tempting than this bike?

And this is just personal opinion, but I don't think that bike is very sexy,

I have a 09 Buell Lightning (albeit the 900) which is what the X1 design turned into. I really like riding the Buell, but it probably isn't the best comparison, as many things had changed since the 02 version.

This forum Buell Forum & Motorcycle Parts - Firebolt-Lightning-Blast-1125R has lots of information about the older Buells. With Buells, I think you either like them or you don't... there doesn't seem to be much in-between. See if he will let you take it for a ride and see what you think.

g00gl3it - You have a very good point. To be honest I haven't driven the bike and I was wanting to sell my quad to get a CR250R dirtbike.
But this guy wanted to see if I would trade, I thought that I would entertain the idea, if I could get it cheap and turn around and sell it for more than I got it for.
I am waiting to hear back from him on how much he is asking for before I make any decisions, and he is only 20 minutes away so I could always go take it for test drive if I got serious enough about it.
