919 hornet mirror suggestions

I have barends on my 2003 919, but would like to try something that would allow more surface area/visibilty, especially on my left side, due to lack of peripheral vision... any suggestions on something that would complement the bike as well?

I've a pair of these on mine - work very well and vibration free.

the stockers painted flat black.... they actually look pretty damn good, I scuffed mine up with some 150 grit sand paper and did 2 light coats of primer, then 2 light coats of flat black... and they came out bitchin.

Allan B ... more details on those please... they look pretty slick.

Can't go wrong with Aprilla Shiver mirrors. Lower profile, good visibility, and very easy to install.

I like my CRGs.
They are outboard and work better than stock for me.
I also like how they fold back.
Excellent for top end charges, just fold em back for reduced wind resistance.
I figure it's good for another 0.0000001 mph of top end.
Seriously though, the optics are excellent, they don't vibrate, and I don't see my elbow in the mirror like I did with the stockers.

They are Napoleon Barend Mirrors. There are cheap knock-offs around but the ones I've seen were, well 'cheap'! The napoleon ones are made in Japan.

A Google should find plenty of suppliers in the USA (I'm in New Zealand) but i also found a review here: .: Napoleon Bar End Mirrors | Review | Canyon Chasers Motorcycle Sport Touring :.

I've had no issue with the black paint, but I do keep by bike very clean. Also available in chrome.

Note - I have the Ultra-Lows and I had to 'modify' the rubbers and nut that insert into the barends as the internal diameter is smaller than a steel bar.

Weird double post by me that I cannot appear to delete! I blame Bill Gates.

Also on these mirrors the mirror plate can be rotated 180 from where I have it so it extends out further for more view. And if it clears your tank you could mount it under the bar for a stealth look (can't remember if I tried this option, probably won't clear the 919 tank with UL's fitted).

There are a lot of good suggestions in this thread:

http://wristtwisters.com/naked-bikes...t-mirrors.html

I went with these:

http://www.m o t o-science.com/product/0/Ducati-Monster-Multistrada-Hypermotards-Mirrors-Alloy-Black_685010.htm

link wont work for some reason, copy, paste and take the spaces out of moto

and really like them. I had to get some extensions to get my elbows out of the way, but they work great for me... good quality and I like the looks!

+1 to this

$52.98 for a pair at my local Aprilia dealer for, IMHO, the best looking mirrors I have seen on a 919 - and GREAT visibility with no vibration.

Those look sweet! I have a pair sitting at home, might just have to take off the CRG bar end knock-offs and put those on. Got mine at FlynCycle $20 each

1500 miles since my first oil change after making the switch to Rotella, still loving it... just did a spirited 200 miler in 100 degree heat, no false neutrals, smooth as silk.

those are some good looking mirrors, may have to jump on these as well... the Aprilia dealers aren't in any hurry to order mirrors for a Honda owner some states away...

I'm LOL'ing 'cause this morning as I was waiting to get a tire patched up on my truck, I walked next door to O'reilly to kill some time. While I was there, I picked up some Valvoline Max life for my 96 Tacoma with 162k miles, I then drove across the street to Advanced Auto Parts when the tire work was done to buy my Purolator filter (PL10241)

I don't do Fram

These look pretty good for the price, I was almost ready to visit the Aprilia dealer. Let us know how they turn out!

I took a nice long ride. So the Verdict. No vibrations. Very easy to see. And they're worth more than I paid. Got to love EBay sometimes. For the Price you can't beat it.

Well, you've sucked me in, too. For 38.85 including shipping for two, plus the great reviews above, it's hard to pass up. Assuming, of course, you don't like the chrome stockers...which I don't. Anyone want to buy some chrome stockers from a one-year old 07 with 4000 miles on them?

I can see through these as clear as I can see through the stock mirrors.
