As a novice to the site, I can't help but notice all of the options for exhaust mods on the 919. Thought another novice who is thinking of undertaking an exhaust mod might want a one-stop shop thread to at least get going.
This is by no means definitive. In one or two cases, the thread just refers to other information that is already available on the site. Really just meant to be a starting point to give an idea of the available options.
Tried to go with links that have fairly specific information in them.
Brand names discussed throughout this site, but without too much install detail:
Two Brothers
Vance and Hines
Jardine
Akro's
Hindle
Erion
Mike, I did different searches on this site and poked around issues of Motorcyclist for brands. Maybe some of the more tenured members of WT can remember a particularly helpful thread?
To anybody else looking/shopping on this topic, for whatever it is worth, I have about an hour going through posts. I'm guessing 90% of the positive feedback on any exhaust setups involve some combination of the setups described in the links above.

jon your a funny dude...
oh yeah thats all set up for the weekend..(sunday) gimme a call tomorrow afternoon and i will confirm everything with my buddy.. i have someone to install and balance... at a discount!!
It sounds pretty good and the bike (with a PCIII) fuels very well. I'm pretty happy with it.
And, it has removable baffles (which I hadn't noticed until taking off the exhaust for the ceramic coating, so I can't say yet how loud it can be....).
I didn't want to say how much I appreciate your help and weird out a perfectly good exhaust system thread with some sort of awkward male bonding moment. Then I noticed on your suspension thread you just put yourself out there as 231 lb Calvin Klein underwear model.
I think the 900rr exhaust swap is an excellent option. I like the weight savings and the fact that it eliminates the exhaust stink getting on you. It is also generally one of the cheapest options because you can use old parts from a mid 90's bike. Here is the link that I used to help with the install. It is more work than just buying slipons for the 919 but usually cheaper.
I have a yoshimura carbon fiber can that I like a lot. Louder without being obnoxious, less engine braking, better gas mileage, and better looking imo.
My first post ever right here :001_smile: Have an 07 919
Question: I've been reading all the posts about swapping out the cans on the 9er. So can you do a straight up swap of stock with slip on cans without other mods, i.e PCIII, etc? Is performance affected by a staight swap?
Haven't done much work on bikes except removing wheels for tire replacement.

Thanks for any remarks/advice
I recently did the stubby Scorpion Can on the 900RR Exhaust...I have an appt with the dyno tomorrow to get them to just check air/ fuel ratio points along the range to see if I need to re-map. Rideability tells me I don't think I need one, but he is only charging me $50, so I figured its worth the piece of mind. I'll post up when I get the results.
Well for Christmas the wifies 07-919 gets the Yosh treatment and from what I have read on here I should not have to add anything else. She wants noise for Christmas and she is gonna get it.

Bucky,
what the hell is that contraption under your engine? part of the exhaust?

Ah, the memories -
If I remember right, he had an aluminum baking pan bolted up under there.
