The Oil Burner 1000RR

Had to go away. Loved the bike but can't have it burning oil like that. I'm sure a lot of people are familiar with the 2008 Honda CBR1000RR issue. I absolutely loved the CBR but who knows how much damage is being done by the large amounts of oil getting past the bad rings.

So I replaced it with this,

A gorgeous piece of machinery. It probably would have been cheaper to get an Italian Mistress, but then again.......she wouldn't come with a dry clutch.

Best of luck.

I hate you.... It's beautiful

I'm guessing it's nice? How does it compare to the CBR? Price?

I would think riding this you could probably find an Italian mistress to go along with it.

Did I mention it's beautiful

It's a completely different ride than the RR. It's the S model so it came with all the normal goodies and the previous owner had put another $8K into it. He spent almost $30K on it and I bought it 13 months later for $13K.

It's pretty insane to ride, I've never been on anything like ti. I'm hooked.

Everything else has already been said. In terms of all out speed, either straight line or through the turns, how does it compare to other liter bikes, in your opinion?

It's hard to judge cornering speed because my other bikes never had this good of suspension on them. As far as balls out acceleration the Duc is amazing, similar horsepower but a LOT more torque...and at lower RPM's.

Yeah, one I did a re-finish on. It was satin nitro, now it's real nitro and properly shiny. Added P-Rail pup's.

Do you mean because each half refracts the light in opposite directions so it looks like they don't match up right?

Bookmatching the tops has been done forever, I love it. That is some seriously beautiful flame maple.

That is a really nice flame top. I love me some PRS. To me they are the ultimate evolution of the guitar.

I like the look of it. It's unfortunate that you can't have true symmetry with a bookmatch, but the beauty of the natural grain pattern makes up for it for me.

+1 on the Duc.

It's what PRS considers their 10 top, and in person it's stunning. Very hard to photograph.

Beautiful bike, for sure.

I know of one owner who had his fall over, just fall over - and it was totalled!

Full coverage is a good idea

Excuse me for off topic - but I'm probably the only one in the world who have not heard that Fireblades using raw volumes of oil ...... is this is my dream of owning a 954 - 1000 which burst here ....?
Why do a 954 - 1000 use oil - and how much oil they use?

I'm in no way an authority on this, but the local sportbike forum populace seems to think it was just the 2008 CBR1000RRs. Honda would fix it under warranty, but some dealers were taking 4 - 5 months to fix it. I understand it required a full engine rebuild with new rings.
