My new trackbike

Finally did it! Got myself a trackbike (translation...my wife finally let me get a trackbike)...

Picked up a 2002 GSXR600. Got a heck-of-a-deal on it. Came with the bike (duh), spare plastics, spare rear wheel, spare rear shock, spare left fork, triple trees, axle, calipers, rotors, clipons from an '04 (for inverted forks...just need a right side fork to do the conversion), couple sets of spare plugs, sprokets (about 8 rear and 3 front), 2 spare chains, spare frame sliders, spare vortex rearsets, etc. etc. etc.

This is what it looked like before the last guy put his sponser decals on it and has a lowspeed lowside(and what it will look like after I take them back off...)

And what it looks like now (disregard the crappy cell phone pic and the junk in the back of my garage...you can see the little rash now on the front fairing. Seat was off to put the battery back in it. Just need to put back on, but I think I am going to use the Superbie tail instead.)

Just thought I would share....plan to test it out on November 7th at MSR-Cresson. Can't wait to play on it! If it would stop raining, I might take a lap down the street to the football stadium and play around in the parking lot a little.

Congrats on the purchase!!

I just had "the talk" with my wife a week ago about my burning desire to get a track bike...
it went fairly well, I think... we'll see.

His GF works at the Ducati place, apparently, and they sponser him. He currently races a Triumph Daytona 675 and a couple Aprillias. All of them (and his pit bikes) have the Ducati stickers on them. Asked him where his Duc is, and he doesn't have/race one. Didn't make much sense to me, but if they help him fund his racing habit, more power to him.....

Very nice - I'm jealous!
I'm still relegated to my daily driver for track days.
