Let me ride it Brian. I am like 105 pounds lighter then you, I'll be super fast on it, like RR fast. You'll never catch me as I head west with your VFR.
anytime you want.... fly on down... you can ride the vfr and go to the beach and see and smell a ocean for the first time... hell, you can even swim in above said ocean.........
lemme know and i will have it gassed up and waiting... i live .5 miles from the airport...
at 180 i would look like i just escaped from Auschwitz......
i think i weighed 180 when i was like 16 or 17ish....
bout 5 years ago i got down to 195ish..... my natural normal weight is 210... so i am ~10ish over...
Barton,
Is natural weight..a benchmark from several super size double whoppers with cheese washed down with a sixer each day? You are a couple inches taller than me and live in a high obesity state. No one has accused me of emaciation. You get an attaboy for making positive diet/exercise changes. Be patient, it takes time for the bike to get faster.

i have not eaten fastfood in almost 2 years (since watching "super size me")...
i drink no more than 3 either sprite or ginger ale's a day... i am at 221 pounds..
florida is not a high obesity state... at least not the part i live in...
@221 pounds i wear a 36 waist pants...
where is everyone getting the impression i am fat??
right...... have you ever rode one of these bikes???
the 919 is a great bike... i had one... a very modified one... it would pull to the rev limiter in 6th with my big ass on it... and i did that as often as i could....
but...
the 1/4 mile is .11 seconds difference.......
that is the proverbial "c h"....
and at the end of that 1/4 aerodynamics are gonna kick in and the 919 will be staring at my taillights fading in the distance...
and i hope you find that vfr to race... and then i hope you are honest enough to tell the truth about the outcome...
Where are some pic's of your VFR.... Doesn't exist without pic's
Yup, now you know why. Try stuffing 50lb in your tank bag and see how slow your bike is. My best performance mod was dropping weight, and now everything is better!

Barton, Nice positive diet changes, keep it up!
No tank bag for me .never needed or was into them..naked all the way...extra 50 pounds thats more reason to leave it stock

dont need a bike to ride the fast lane
Something I keep seeing in this thread is the word, "Fast" and the concept of 60 to 80 times and such..
When I think about it, that argument doesn't make a lot of sense.
When I push my bike hard, I like to know it's "there", and it is. If I was on a VFR, the power would definitely roll on differently as it definitely did when I rode one but as Barton surmises, "What is the point of a couple of tenths of a second?". Absolutely nothing unless you live and work at a track, which most of us don't.
Not to kiss as$ but I have to agree. Even though I am mostly a commuter and ride mostly straight up, the best part of the ride is in the twisties on the weekends.
I'm convinced that ninety percent of this discussion is testosterone and youth driven and it should be, as that's where the innovation comes from.
But there is something to be said for not only appreciating the power but lusting with the handling of a similar bike that does everything you want it to. Especially one with "Mary" on the back.
Arguing about a couple of tenths on acceleration is just ignorant unless you are paid to ride for that tenth.. I've passed many bikes and have them blow past me later in a corner...That's on me. I'm the idiot, fine.. But I also made it home, didn't make it on the local news, and I enjoyed the ride.
Like I said before, I have always wanted a VFR, but I have a CB... I love my 919 but there are always things that I want it to do better. I do what I can afford and I'm pleased, but I still want a VFR.. It's a great friggin bike with a $hitload of potential.
I guess I got over the small crap and comparing length thing long ago.
540 pounds of fueled up motorcycle is a bit much for me. My little 600RR is very comfy. It weighs about 411 fueled. Having to sling an extra 130 pounds around sounds like a lot of work.

i'm a big strong boy... i manage just fine...lol...
i honestly love the interceptor... the more miles i put on it the more i wish i had bought it instead of the 919.... i could have had 1 more year to love it...
i had a kawi zx6r a couple years back... i loved that bike also... but this interceptor just stirs my soul....
