that's a sweet looking little bike, I'd love to run a few laps at the local supermoto track on that (minus the dirt section)

If they would just slap the 450 or 525 in that bad boy.
what he said.... love that lil bike with their 450 race dirtbike 4 stroke... omg that would be fun as hell! and be street legal of course.... id have a hard time keeping my 919 if they did that haha! seems as how 90% of my riding is in the super tight twisties of the santa monica mtns.
I'm falling in love with this bike the more I look at it. I've got a bunch of guys in the mini-motard crowd drooling over it now. Really a sharp looking machine.

Use the little close-up feature. That isn't just a concept bike, that little baby has been ridden reasonably hard, check out the tires! And, remember, as light as it is it doesn't/wouldn't shred tires as much (meaning, those tires have been ridden pretty hard).
I'm also thinking that KTM wouldn't go to the trouble to design a chassis, design an engine etc... for a bike they didn't plan on building. Most concepts are mostly cosmetic, this one is obviously a functioning bike.
My guess is they will lose the extra mega-phone, and down size the front brake for a production model... I'd like to see a skid plate too.

PS. However....note the lack of weld quality on the frame.... obviously some bugs still to work out...doubt their manual welders are this bad....might still be working out the programing on robotic welders.
Don't know if those tires were ridden on that bike or not. Check out the oil sight glass, not a drop in there.
I really wish they would make this bike, but you and I both know that for the US market sales would be totally dismal. The general motorcycling public wants bigger, lighter, faster penis extensions year after year. Only little girls ride bikes like this because they can't handle the power of a Hayabusa or ZX14.
If it was a 450 or 550 it would sell better, but still not a huge market for that. I see maybe one SM bike to every 100 sportbikes or 1000 cruisers. You should see all the laughs I get when I fire up my little 125 at a gas station full of squids or crusiers.
Hopefully they go against their better judgment and build this thing.

Maybe it is just really, really clean oil.............
I do think it would be better as a 250 for our market, and even better as a 400ish. I have not actually seen another person riding a 250 sm while I was on mine, but I almost always see someone on a sportbike while on my 10. It is kind of sad, especially given about 10% of those folks can ride their bikes at even 50% of the bike's ability.
I haven't seen one with lights yet... looks to me like they are shooting for the small displacement race crowd...which KTM has supported probably better than any other manufacturer. Their present selection of mini's is the class of the field.
I know three guys in our club that would buy the race model immediately. KTM seems to be able to survive on way smaller sales numbers than the big three.
I've got no interest in the bike as a street bike, but as a race bike it would be the tits. Already checked...and it would be legal for the classes I race in.

No interest as a street bike. Good, buy 2. You race one and I'll get into lots of trouble on the street on the other! I really have to check out one of your mini races someday. They sound like a blast.
