I guess the mock ups that were surfing all over the web were not to far out from what the bike is like... I am not liking it at the moment because it looks like a mix of the Kawasaki (front), Suzuki (exhaust) and Yamaha (tail & Mid part).
On the other hand, they all copy each other so that's a toss up, perhaps you'll get use to it? I used to hate the Element when it first came out and now I like it.
The rear hugger doesn't hug. The rear brake reservoir isn't covered. The mirrors are from Suzuki. The tail from Kawasaki. The plate hanger from the R6. There's no reason to hang it like that when the brake light is in the tail and there plenty of space to build a stouter assembly particularly given the matte plastic area ahead of the brakelight. The R1-like intake. The exhaust is hideous. Round reflectors? The through the frame intake isn't covered. The side panel under the seat is a tweak of the 05-06 600RR's one. The rear plate assembly is sticking too far back as the trailing edge of the fender should be almost directly above the back of the tire.
Basically, to me, they're all signs of someone with good photoshop skills but poor design and thinking skills.
You know eric Buell has to be laughing, seems everyone is finally agreeing with his idea of keeping weight low and centered -
My opinion is biased , so, I wont coment - Kawasaki dealer sho is in 3 weeks, I cant wait to see if the fixed the ZX10R.
It seems that Honda has been keeping an eye on public opinion. They've ordered all pictures of the 2008 CBR1000RR be pulled from official sources and have asked the major publications to delete the photos from their articles.
I have verified the pictures are no longer on the Honda Press Desk. The story is that public reaction was so poor at the site of their photoshopped pictures that the negative commentary is deflating their enthusiasm.
Its real, saw it at the dealer show last night. the front is very ugly. but set aside the looks, they had it in a separate room so we could not take pictures. its top secret until they really release it in 3 weeks. it is supposed to be bada$$.
they gave us no numbers or anything, but told us that there is some hardcore new tech under that weird new plastic. up close the exhaust is pretty cool actually and the tail section is very nice. the headlights are round and the front nose is pretty bubbly and I don't like it. feels very light from sitting on it. you can get it in red/black, silver, black, and yellow/black. Info is supposed to be released on sep 28.
two ghost layovers.
The 07 is the ghost.
I made every effort to size them identically. One centered on the swingarm pivot bolt, the other centered on the front axle bolt.
Pay attention to the footpeg differences, clip-on handle differences and chain adjuster differences, levers. We're talking inches not millimeters.

any rumblings or rumors about the 1200cc superbike?
Hmmmm, small lightweight rear caliper. Spacers under the front calipers... 320mm discs perhaps?
Maybe it's growing on me. If there really is some craziness going on inside the plastics I may return to considering this come spring time. We'll see how the reviews go I guess. I wonder what the aftermarket will be able to come up with for that exhaust since there appears to be more space available without it than on the other stubby piped bikes. The nose still bugs me though.
R6... down to the tank emblem. But I kinda like it!
I think they took the tank emblem idea from the MotoGP bike... seen in this pic with Nicky.
Funny, how on a bike where every ounce makes a difference, they have an emblem on the tank, and one to the left of the right fork. Must be why Nicky's not winning this year
Actually, the more I look at this bike the more I like it and the more I want one.
I am betting it is reasonably light, and the addition of an aftermarket exhaust should drop a good bit more weight. Having the pipe down there is nice, for passengers and luggage.
It's appearance may be a huge rip off of other bikes but, if it is fun to ride what does it matter.
Looking at the big picture of the new 1k i see potential to get it naked and look really sick with a set uf dual round head lights a bikini faring and new exhaust wed be in business
