2005 honda repsol

Excuse the ignorance but what is different from a 1000rr repsol and a normal 1000rr. A dealer near me has a 2005 for sale with 7500 miles, hes asking just over $8000. I would be trading in a 2007 919, any help would be appreciated.

The only difference is the plastics. Mechanically it is the same, or so I hear.

He is WAY high on his pricing.

repsol honda, buy and sell Motorcycles on eBay Motors

In the list you should see a 2005 with 6,400 miles on it for $5,500.

I just did a quick search and a semi-local guy has a 2009 Repsol edition for sale for $9,500. I've seen him on the local board.

dealers are always high.., neg with him dude! show him pricing for other similar bikes, and then talk him down. if he refuses to budge, walk out, come back in another day or two and try again. if he refuses to budge much, clearly he's not someone you want to deal with. dealers always have huge markups on their prices for used bikes. they either get them from auctions or trade-ins, thats how they make their money.

how much is he giving for your 9er anyways?

he said he would give me $4000 for the 919. So its really just plastics that define the repsol?

I just searched repsolforum.com and fireblades.org. They both have a few threads about the LACK of differences. The only difference is the paint scheme.

As far as pricing goes I always check the Kelley Blue Book value, New Cars, Used Cars, Blue Book Values & Car Prices - Kelley Blue Book

2005 Honda CBR1000RR Repsol Edition
March 3, 2010
4-Cylinders, 4-Stroke, 998cc
Suggested Retail Value $7195
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the unit has been fully reconditioned and is in excellent condition. Mileage/condition and additional equipment may have a substantial impact on the value shown above. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the unit's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions.

So, slap some REPSOL decals on the bike, take it back to him & demand no less than $7000 for it

Sorry, but I just like to f#@k with dealers. It's a matter of beating them at their own game IMO

Better yet just slap the dealer.

I'd do it.

Yup, that's pretty slick right there.

I'm with the others here, flyinghornet. Blow that guy off unless he takes your bike and $2250 OTD.

Thanks for the input everyone, I haven't even tried negotiation with him yet but will definitely see how far I can get him down.

As far as getting rid of the 9'er.....love the bike, but I am constantly spending money on it trying to make it what I want....This isn't possible, I want something more like a 1000rr, so this year I'm finally going to make the move.

The other two bikes I am considering are the rc 51 and the aprillia rsv 1000, any thoughts on either of those?

Yeah, "I'd hit that... either one of 'em"

Sorry I'm not much help in that department, but seriously... I'd be happy to own either one.

Just that there is nothing like a big twin. I had a Superhawk 996 and just loved it. Of course it was a much more laid back bike than the 51, but wow, what a motor.

Not mine, dug up pics posted here before. From the plate it looks to be from accross the pond.

+1 on orange rims

Just wanted to let everyone know that I decided on an 04 aprilia rsv. I put a deposit down on a very clean one earlier today that only has 1100 miles on it.
Thanks for the help everyone!
