WTB: Black 919 Instrument Cluster (or other parts)

I have a 07 919, and from what I understand, the 03's came with a black instrument panel. So I would like to find a black one or a spare "chrome" one to scratch and paint. Let me know if any of you have one. Thanks

Since I put up this post I decided to also see if anyone is getting rid of any powerdercoated parts. I've been looking all over my area and it seems as though my little po-dunk town doesn't have a powdercoater.

Get a can of quality rattlecan paint and do it yourself. I did like 10 'very light' coats and it came out looking VERY good.

Bugs and everything cleaned right off. And before anyone asks, no, I did not scuff/scratch the chrome beforehand. Just painted.

And then I put Koso gauges on, so..................

Yeah I did a rattlecan job on my stock mirrors to hold me over for a while and haven't had any problems with that yet. If I mess up that job, I'll be back on here looking for another cluster or I'll get the one off of that website, thanks guys.

Just curious g00gl3it, is your swingarm powdercoated or painted?

powdercoated. Pretty much the whole bike is now, except for the front forks and lower triple. It would have been too much trouble to do those in powder, so I painted them.

Here is an updated pic.

Yeah, I need to find a powdercoater in my area, a mix between mdtoney and your bike is what I'm going to eventually strive for.

My wife and I were discussing the price of upgrades the other day and she posed the question: are you going to keep your 919 forever?

Tough question, I like everything about the bike i'm just trying to justify the 2-3k+ I plan on putting in the bike.

I'd like to see a thread where people post something along the lines of: "With the cost of all the mod's you've done, what could you have bought? Do you regret it at all?" I'm going to go look for that thread

Haha, you might have to create that thread!

And mdtoney has a VERY nice bike. I want his front suspension setup!

Thanks! Although I'm 50/50 on the red silver vein powdercoat on the wheels.

Half tempted to pull them off again and go full mirror black on them...

Or swap with someone with a black bike, I think they'd go well with a black bike, but it seems to be a bit too much red on a red bike, I think.

Yeah 3d, if I had a black 919 I would probably be going for a look like yours. That screen in front and the striping makes that one sexy bike.
