Kudos to the Ohlins for being the suspension that's 'unnoticeable'. That's how it should be.
I'd love to hear more when you get a chance (weather permitting!) This is an upgrade I'll have to save up for.

Honda Hornet 919 Ohlins Shock HO201

Plan to keep the 919 forever, so is it a recommended upgrade even if my bike may never see the track?

Thanks as always
Larry
I like the price, $919 shipped in the US. Wish I had $919 laying around

I just got my ohlins in the mail today. yeahhh. It's too bad I'm too tired to put it in. I worked from 6am-11:30pm with only (1) 30min break, and then today, 6am to 230pm. time for bed

I just installed my ohlins! Well, just about. I still have to set the sag. I mounted the remote preload adjust right behind the left side cover. It looks sweet and its solid as a rock. I used the bike lean sensor bracket to help.

All you need to do this is

2:1 1/2" 8-32 screws (i used stainless)
2:8-32 nylon lock nut ss
2:#8 washers ss
1: 1/4-20 nut ss

First, when putting in the shock, send the remote preload adjuster through the same "hole/path" as the reservior.
Then,
I put the bracket from the adjuster behind the sensor bracket but before the sensor. On the other side, I used the 1/4-20 nut just to be used as a spacer. (perfect size). Then I just mounted it as you see in the pictures.

The remote adjuster is further away from the exhaust than it seems in the picture

Hey Boog, did you route the hose to your reservoir on TOP of the frame or under it? It looks like yours is above, and I think I routed mine below.

I like where you mounted your adjuster - If I get different rearsets, I'll have to do this anyway, as I'll lose that rear mounting option.

LDH, what is proper etiquette? I may have to adjust mine .

Looks good! Just watch the adjuster knob, looks like it's pretty close to the pipe.

I'm not worried about it. It really is much farther then the picture shows. I wish I could get a good angle on it with the camera. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to set the sag. What did you guys get for numbers?

I forgot to mention, the reservoir line, I put a tie wrap around that and the frame, just to pull back the line just a tad. Just enough to make room for the preload adjuster. No kinks.

ohh and after the black tie wrap, I also put a stainless steel tie wrap on it just in case.

It's supposed to hit FIFTY here tomorrow. I'm gonna ride and THIS time, pay attention to the rear suspension, lol....

I've yet to set sag or anything on it yet, still need to get a buddy or two over here to help do that.
