919 heat shields Carbon Fiber Vinyl wrapped.

I had a mint pair of OEM muffler heat sheilds & some left over 3-M Carbon Fiber DiNoc wrap, so I threw these together. Make a nice upgrade for your OEM setup.

$75.00 shipped.

ahhhh I want these! If I didn't have a baby on the way I'd be taking these off your hands.

Gotta make having the bike look as cheap as possible to the wife

Had I not just gotten the danmotos, I'd be on those like white on rice on a paper plate in a snow storm being eaten by a storm trooper!

did you glue the vinyl down? I can only imagine the heat from the pipes will either make the vinyl brittle or cause it to peel...

Have they been tested on a bike?

not trying to downplay the coolness factor or your sale. honestly just wondering what will happen, as you're the first I know of to do this.

I have seen it done on other forums. I have not tested them myself but i know another member on here mentioned he did his heat sheilds as well.
If a member buys them and runs into problems, i am more then wiling to refund the $75.

If anything, knowing the quality adhesives of 3M, I would think it would stick BETTER with heat. And those heat shields don't get overly hot. It think they'll be ok, but I was asking more out of curiosity. There are a few other parts I think it would be nice to overlay, like the starter, for example.

I did edge seal it on the underside which will keep it from coming up. I was thinking the same, it should stick really well due to the temp.

I will have to give the starter a try. Got a spare one on the shelf.

Speaking of, how hard are they to get off? I was thinking of either rattle-canning mine or using the spare Dynoc I've got...

Only time i ever removed one was with the motor out of the bike. Certainly looks like there is not much space to sneak it out.

Back when I had it on there I did probably did a few thousand miles before switching to Sato's. The whole time I had it on there I had no issues with heat/cracking or anything of that nature. IMHO it is VERY durable stuff.

Not that hard...just a slow and steady peel. There was virtually no glue residue left on the stainless steel either
