It's gotta go....have other bikes in the garage to tinker with so won't go through total withdrawl for now.

Wasn't on all weekend so just saw this Jack. Looks like you're only about 160 miles away so that would be the perfect distance to get aquainted to a new bike!

Maybe we should talk. I am new to this forum and don't yet know how to go private. My email is Email Omitted For Privacy. My interest is genuine but I was kind of looking for a red one. I have bought a lot of bikes in NY state from private owners but am not sure how to register an out of state bike. Anyhow lets open up some communication.
Thanks
Jack

You can click on the member's name above their avatar picture and chose 'Send a private message to <user>'
I also removed your email address for privacy. Bots like to pick those things up and spam the crap out of you. I did send a PM to dadogs with your email address to make sure he got it.

Buying a PA bike is no big deal to register in NYS as long as you remember to get the title notorized in PA at the time of sale. NYS will not let you register it without the notory stamp on the back of a PA title. Dadogs should know of somebody close by, and if not, do a little research. It's cheap, and it'll smooth things out when you go to the DMV back in NY.
Good luck.
P.S. I've got an '03 919, too. You're gonna love it.

Do both parties have to be in PA for the notary??? I'm delivering the bike to NY on Saturday

Point of delivery doesn't make a difference. If you look at the back of your PA title (top left corner), there should be a place for a notary stamp, and the wording will tell you that transfer of title requires the title to be notorized. You may be able to take it to the notary (before you leave the state of PA), sign your part of the title, and get them to stamp it.
All I know is that I didn't do this when I bought my bike from a guy in PA over the summer, and it was a tense week because NYS DMV said that they could not process my title transfer without it being notarized, and I had a $3,000 paperweight in my garage while I had to FedEx the title back to PA, have the previous owner get it stamped, and send it back. He turned out to be a really nice guy, but for a while I felt like
Best of luck to you both.

Appreciate the color! I'll be taking the title to the DMV tomorrow to get it notarized if need be.
