The Outstanding Restoration Award has been added to the lineup. It is a symbol of a Phoenix, the mystical creature that has risen from the ashes reborn, not unlike the restorations our members have shared with us in the Classics forum.
Our first awards have already been issued to Simpson for his CB360, Kristen for her DT250 and to 1000RRHooligan for his RVF400.
Surely I'm forgetting someone for something so please let me know.
I hope to earn this award for myself some day and am very proud of the accomplishments of those who've already earned it.
How old does the bike have to be to qualify, and can it be restomod??
My FXR is 18 years old, and I Changed it from an FXRT to an FXLR by taking off the fairing and touring bits, and putting on stock FXLR tank and fenders and wideglide forks. Also updated it in the drivetrain dept, S&S engine, 6 speed, Custom built 2>1 exhaust,I have gone through just about the whole bike.
It started like this, you cant see where the fairing was broken or the cracked bag, with a tired 80" Evo
this is the only shot of it partially torn down
a couple right after I finished it last spring
Here is what it looks like now, set up with the corbin 2-up and saddlebags

oh yes, that definitely qualifies Justin. Easy to see the amount of work that went into that bike, it looks beautiful.
Thank you sir,
I really appreciate it, It the biggest project I have completed to date, and put a huge amount of effort, time and way too much cash into it. I learned a lot in the process and the bike is truly mine.
I know I have posted pics of it from rides in the past, but now that I think about it I never went back to my original project thread and posted the final pics, I should have done that! I should do that with the final specs of whats on it.

wish i had a better camera back then, mazing how 7 yrs ago i though 1 mega pixel was great. now any less than 10 i a waste of time. it does not show but it does have ghost flames on it.
ill try to dig out some more finished photos of some others i have done.
The 250 is a definite, it's obvious you went all the way down with it. Tell us more about the Radian. Not trying to down play it, just need more information. Did you go down to the frame with it?
As far as multiple awards, absolutely YES! Each one is a labor of love and a full job deserves the acknowledgment. I still need to refine the image though, was considering a silver phoenix image to represent 2 and a gold phoenix to represent 3. We have some members who I'm sure could easily have a dozen blue phoenix awards.
no sold the rd 2 yrs ago, radian crashed it in orlando while attending mmi. Z50 still here. not quite done yet, have small things to go back around to do, needs new shocks and fork legs, but stuff like that can be done when i get money for it.
cant forget my cb450 what a bike, now the stock bike is not the same bike as the cafe bike. its in way to good of shape to do this to, but cant find the b4 picture of the cafe. but is was a heap, i think my friend may have it on his old computer. mine is new and does not have all those older pictures. oh and by the way i still have this one as well.
its been a while in the making, started b4 i left for school, kept it around for when i got back, that was 3 yrs ago now so in the works for 5-6 yrs i hope this summer to get the bugs worked out of it and ride it a little then maybe sell it. i conforms to all the vintage racing requirements in the area. just unbolt lights and stuff and take her racing. well almost i never did the wireties or anything, wanted people to know its never been raced but could be easy enough.
not too much, the cylinder that are on there are bored maximum with out going to big bore, i forget now how big that is, i think link 1.00 over, i do have a set of cylinder in stock that are aready bored out to big bore with pistons and rings for the just in case these blow up
