Temp Gauge

I'm having trouble locating the sensor for the temp gauge, can anyone help me out? The needle on the gauge doesn't move at all, from what I can see, even while idling. I only have the pdf manual, and it doesn't really point out where it is.

The ECT sensor is between the valve cover and top radiator hose. Page 19-15 in my manual.
