"ghetto" fixes... any1 care to share?

haha... only way to describe it.

Anyways, last night I ripped my front off and apart to get some meaty shots of my dual headlight install for a fellow TT member and saw the gorilla glue didn't hold up - no force or trama I recall since that temp repair was done (fell off jack stands while replacing the rear tire).

SO now with a 0.067 index bit, some safety wire, and a little patience has her solid and close to new once again. Sadly, I will probably rock this until it breaks.

make it permanant dude. I have had great luck with getting a roll of fibreglass mesh (super cheap), then using 5 or 10min epoxy.

Cut small pieces of the fiber to the area you want, mix some epoxy, apply thin coat to surface, place piece of fiber, then apply more epoxy over the top. Works like a charm.

Next time use a quality cyanoacrylate. I've found gorilla glue less than superior for structural repairs. It does great for laminate type stuff (e.g. sticking 2 pieces of wood together) but in my experience, thats about it.

And heres a tip. CA boosters are water...yep $12 for a .5oz bottle of water at the hobby shop. I'm sure they have some other joojoo in it, but CA cures well when spritzed with water.

Plastic is nefarious stuff to glue. On some busted molding on my 10R, I've shaped metal such as brass sheet into the rough shape of the plastic part then slathered both surfaces, the plastic and the metal with the adhesive. Slammo, bammo! The mother fucker has never ever vibrated loose again. O can see though that it might take many little pieces of metal on that fix.

Oh, JB Weld is tits in my book too.

Moer coffee........
