Fouled 9er plugs?

So, Iowa's been getting warmer and i've actually gone out riding a few times in the past couple days, and yesterday while letting the bike warm while i strapped my gear on, it sounded odd. Well today, i warmed it, felt the exhaust and found that my #2 plug hasn't been firing. Now, my old carbureted bikes fouled plugs and it didn't bother me a bit. this one, being that its an 07 and only 6000miles, i found it a bit disheartening to find that the plug was oil fouled. I've got a set of Iridium NGKs on order, but has anyone else experienced and oil fouled plug on a 9er. Thanks dudes.

Are you sure it's oil and not the leaking FPR that some others have experienced? Did you check the other plugs as well?

well, the #1 and #4 plugs were the magical brown sooty color. I didn't dare fight with that PAIR schit to get to #3... need to get plates... contact Semi-Gray. Anyway, I'll replace all of them once my new ones get here. i cleaned the dead one and swapped it with plug 1 and tried to get it to fire off that way. No dice. i think its just crap.

if the FPR is your problem, #3 will likely be fouled soon.

So a replacement is on order? would a Honda OEM replacement have the same issues as the old. Also, anyone have a part #? I can't find it on Service Honda.

$78.55. part number is 16740-MCZ-013

if you look at the Throttle Body Assembly page on Service Honda, you will find it as part 12.

make sure you look at the helpful topics and troubleshoot it first. Might save you $80.00

So, upon futher investigation, i believe that my problem was caused by water in the gas. The bike was running at full tilt on Sunday and i topped the tank off with 91octane premium. It went downhill after that. Before, while only missing on #2, today after swapping the old plugs with my new NGKs both #1 and #2 arent firing. I put the old plugs in the #1 wire and had them touching the head and they all sparked like mad. Therefore, i beleive that condensation formed in my tank and perhaps froze the injectors shut. Does this sound correct to anyone out there?

bring the bike in a garage thats warmer than freezing n let the bike warm up?

I dont see how plugs could get fouled due to water however. And if its that cold run 87.. thats all the 919 needs and all i use till ambient temps get to 90*f

If this is a bad batch, ill run 87. save myself some money. im hoping its just water and i can warm it to get it working. this has been a bit of a headache. Kinda makes me pine for a vtwin just so its easier to get to the damn spark plugs.

also, should it have resistor type plugs? the Iridum ones i bought i dont believe have resistors.

Use factory spec plugs.

Well, I'm almost embarrassed to admit this... Apparently when i replaced the plugs, i put #1 and #2 wires on the wrong plugs. oops. Still, one of the old ones was crap, because i couldn't get any spark out of it, but damn. I guess that's one thing I'll check first next time.
