exhaust repacking

I have yoshi tri oval stainless that I need to repack. Does anyone know what I can use to repack it with? Do I have to get the yoshi repack kit or can I get an aftermerket repack kit? Also, the steel wool..... does that get replaced too? I dont really see it in any repack kits.
BTW I'm only repacking because I had to open the up to get the dents out from the PO's crash. I also may get some carbon fiber vinyl to wrap them since they don't really get that hot. It will cover all the blemishes.

yes you can use any "muffler pack" as far as i know... typically you wrap the core with steel wool so it doesnt pull the small fibers out.

Typically your spost to put a somewhat specific amount in (tho not nearly as necessary on 4 strokes as 2 strokes). Lots of people use r13 - r19 insulation... and like stated use a wrap of steel wool to keep blow out down

Ill be using a piece of home insulation from a job site around here for when i need to repack my dirbikes muffler tho im a god aweful cheap ass. .

Yup I have. You can usually find it somewhere for free and it works just fine. I've had to do mine every two years but I ride a lot. You can't be cheaper than me.

Denniskirk.com and the likes all stock repacking material for 4 stroke mufflers. If you search Youtube for something like 'yoshimura repack' yoshi actually have a instruction video.

Here - found it for you. Easy, just allow twice the time you think you need and take it slowly.
