Bike fell over need new parts

So my bike fell over and hit a dumster. It snaped off the mirror and I scratched my upper case assembly. Now I have an 04 and I was wondering what the difference was between and 04 and an 02. the difference I found was almost $40 dollars (unless I'm looking at it wrong) for the upper assy.

Oh and dose any one know if an 02 outer cover will fit an 04. I want to change the cover to black and get rid of the chrome one. Thanx

The $40 dollar difference must be for the clock and the chrome. The '02 outer cover will fit any model 919 and vice versa.

The 04 upper has another button for the clock.

I just replaced the outer instrument cover on the 599 yesterday, not too bad of a job and I'm sure the 919 is very similar. Have to unbolt the headlamp and lay it on a towel on your fender, then unbolt the aluminum h/l brackets, 5 screws and 2 bolts in the instrument housing and off it comes.
