02' 919 won't start...

I searched the forum, I am striking out on troubleshooting the starting issue... the manual I am striking out with too...

Scenario- Bike is in my heated shop, ride often, never an issue- had foot surgery end of december... I forgot about, went to fire it up and just clicking, figured battery so I threw the new charger/ tender on it(overnight) went to fire it up today and same clicking, almost sounds like a relay clicking- no action from the starter... any thoughts? Was trying to ride every month this year... January is almost gone- Argh.....

Kevin

Flat battery? It is original to when I got it, and matter of fact PO didn't mention that he had bought a new one or anything like that... so it could be couple years old at least...

I may run and buy a new one....

Thoughts???

before you run and get a new one, test it first. charge it up and then check the voltage. should be above 13 volts. then throw it in and check the voltage on the battery when you thumb the starter. if it drops below 12-13 volts, it's no good and not holding the charge.
