What do you guys think about this headlight setup?

I'm just looking for the HID - could care less for the 'angel eye' crap. Projector, mini flyscreen, and HID are my initial thoughts. But, I'm wondering if anyone here has it installed - streetfighter or not...and if so, how did it go and what are your thoughts?

EBAY-Motorcycle StreetFighter Headlight HID HALO Projector

Just got me thinking after seeing this thread by Mayday:
HID kit - An Improvement ?

Yes, it's 4 times more expensive, but it IS a true projector housing and IMHO, doesn't look too terribly fugly. Maybe I should just stick with Maydays solution instead huh...leave the classic rounder upfront so I don't gather as much attention...

It looks pretty cool. I personally think the classic round headlight works better for the 919. It almost looks like that headlight has blinkers on the side too.

That headlight is starting to grow on me. What did you end up deciding on? It would be great to see it on a 919 and see how the install went

I kinda like it.

$275 for that light.
Then I'm sure you could get $80-100 for your stock headlamp, if you don't think you need to keep it.

That's just $190 (roundabout) for a sexy HID headlamp, and I particularly like the HALO

I added it to my watch list. Gonna think about that one.

Where would you put all the wires? It seems like if you could use the stock brackets, it would be kinda far forward, so if you left the wires behind the headlight you would see them. And that would lookalikeashitttttt.

Just an update, I didn't buy this and went with cb700s suggestion in my current oem housing. It's not perfect but good and light output is awesome.

That said...

Anyone else pick it up and install?

The only problem I can see is I need to invest in better front springs now...the dip is very evident on stopping with the hid setup u recommended

Thumbs up

I recently bought the headlight you guys are talking about(Sonic Streetfighter). First problem I've encountered is how to mount it. Factory brackets are out of the question. Any one know of a place to find some generic "fork-mount style" replacements?? Second issue is clearance with the back of headlight faring and the gauges. Looking to get an aftermarket gauge cluster(Koso RX-1N GP-Style)to obtain clearance. Could probably use stock gauges, but would look kinda goofy, not to mention the gauges would flop around alittle, because the stock headlight bracket also supports the gauges.
Any input is appreciated.

I had these brackets on my 86 fazer when I put the streetfighter dominator headlights on it. I really liked them.

What do you guys think? Made the mounts my self out of 3/4" x 1/8" flat stock Aluminum. Ran out of electrical splice stuff or would have had a pic with it working. Will repost when I've got it done.

Great idea. Post some pictures when done. I'm interested to see how it will look and where you will stuff all those wires. And the gap between the headlight and gauges.

It you removed the PAIRs system you might be able to stuff some of those wires where the valve used to be. Hidden behind all that black plastic.

Final Product

Well this is it. I'm still having issues getting the speedo calibrated to the factory sensor, and cant get it to sense the original engine coolant sensor.

Ah, next to Moscow. Little town you go there! Then again, those aren't hard to come by in Idaho .

The nice thing is, you probably have the only 919 around, right?
