I am planning on Reupholster my stock seat and planning on buying leather hide from the web. anyone else had DIY or know how big of a cut (9 sq. feet??) of a piece of a cow I need?
I did mine a while back in Marine Vinyl. I didn't really measure the piece I used, because I bought a yard of 54" wide material, but I think about 2' X 3' should do it.
thanks mike, my searching skill is lacking, I am planning on doing a tan leather to give the 9er a face life with a white tank / tail combo.
I've literally had the same idea since I bought my 919 new in '07. Faded oxblood saddle, pearl white tank with a single black-red offset (1/3 to the left) pinstripe down the tank/tail.
One more, deeper color black I think. I used the Pin Pricked Mat (sic) Black (Very last color) and the Black Carbon (18) for the black colors and the piping was Dark Red (30).

$500 thats a lot of money for such an easy job i think it took me about two hours from start to finish.it was four pieces if i remember right one in front and two for sides and the main cover.you are going to need an air stapler with 1/4 inch staples any longer and it will leave marks in your new cover so be careful.

Yeah, I would have no idea how to do it that nice though... and I only have one seat to muck up on.
