Ron the seat maker

A member was interested in who did my seat after seeing pictures of my 900rr conversion. I figured I would post pictures of the seat and where it can be done. I had about 5/8 of an inch added to the front and more foam added in the thigh area. Ron uses neoprene foam. I had him retain the stock lines of the seat because IMO it flows well with the bike design. He then covered the seat with smoothe sides and carbon fiber weave top. I believe the sides are leather and the carbon fiber is synthetic. When I told Ron I wanted all leather with a carbon fiber pattern, he said "there arent any carbon fiber cows available". LOl. He goes by the name Rontheseatmaker, all one word. He is out of Phoenix Az. Check out his photo bucket site. I paid $200.00 for the work and the seat is extremely comfortable. If you are a local he lets you ride the bike for a while before he covers it to ensure you like the shape. Overall a good guy.

Nice looking seat, good price too. Any way you can get a side shot so we can see the thickness?

bls69, rather than start a new thread, just keep posting in the current one. I merged the last pic that was in the new thread into this one, to keep things clean.

Looks like a nice seat! How much continuous seat time have you had on it?

I'd be interested in doing something like this...

Thanks. Im living in the computer dark ages. Ive ridden from Phoenix to Laughlin. Thats about 3.5 to 4 hours with just a quick gas stop and had no problems. We did an overnight trip and rode back the next day again with no problems. The seat is much more comfortable than stock and it still looks factory.

where you added 5/8 inch to front...does seat feel level...my only gripe is set feels like im going down hill not level....think that accounts for most discomfort then seat itself

+1, I'd like to know too, I hate sliding forward on the stocker.

The seat goes up on the tank a little bit further than stock. More foam was added to the front so the seat is more level. He added just enough foam to improve the comfort with out making it look bulky or out of place on the bike. I dont slide forward when braking hard. The carbon fiber cover also adds some grip.

I've got a couple of members interested and I'm helping them make the arrangements to get them done since I live about 30 minutes from Ron.

Here is "Rontheseatmakers" contact info. He told me on Saturday the Price is still $200.00 for the same work he did on mine. Seats can be shipped directly to him at 2901 E. Charleston, Phoenix Az. 85032. Phone number: 602-384-5217. He said turnaround is about 5 days from receipt of seat. That could change so give him a call. His work can be seen on photobucket. Google rontheseatmaker.

Thanks for that!

I don't have the funds now, but I think I'll give him a try.
