Try checking out Aztec8.com for a dual headlight conversion.

These bolt right on and no extra wiring necessary. (Relay installation is recommended though).

Dominator Streetfighter Dual or Single Headlight for Motorcycles

However, if I've known about the Aztec8 website, I'd definitely go with the 5 3/4" duals instead of the 4". I think it looks better and will probably have a better dispersion.

However the 5 3/4" (from Aztec) will need the $88 bracket kit. I can't say for the 4", but the ones from FlynCycle bolts right onto the stock headlight bracket.

How do you guys hide all of the plugs and wiring that are in the original headlight bucket when you swap to a dual setup?

You can pull the main cable back into the engine area by loosening the clamp on the right side. It doesn't pull all loose cables back, but it makes it easier to manage under the dominators.

I've been thinking about goin to the 599 headlight because the 919 light sucks pretty bad... especially on these hilly/windy BC roads!

There are some drop in solutions available for a 7 inch light but the HID and LED variety are expensive - I've been checking. They range from $300-500 which is a bit expensive for a headlight, but then again there is some value in the ones that offer an H4 connector as the installation is simpler.

599 light looks the best IMO. I did H9 Hella bulb conversion and it awesome compared to standard 599 H11s, I'm not even talking about 919 original unit

Do you just like the look of the 599 light better or does it also function better?

functions way better than stock.... actually has 2 separate bulbs, with two "separate" reflectors for those bulbs... produces a much better beam. than the stock 919 headlight.

I do have a question about the stocker headlight.... would there be issues if i say ran both the high and low beam when i switched to high beam?.... id of course run a relay, but would the draw be too much for the magneto to output... or would the bulb housing get too hot?

Zaq, I'm goin' to re read the 599 thread and look into this further, but, is the difference in beam really that drastic of a difference?(please be honest) I really need something more on the 919 for night riding.

yes, especially since I upgraded to H9 bulbs
Do yourself a favor: while getting parts, get H9 connectors instead of H11s and get a set of H9 bulbs.

these is what I have in mine:
Amazon.com: Hella H83357011 H9 12V/65W High Performance Xenon Blue Halogen Bulb: Automotive

I'll try to snap a few pics of the beam if I remember

as promised. FYI, I didn't use that device which makes H beam come up with L beam as in 599 headlight thread. My H beam and L beam work just like on stock 599. It's plenty bright for me as is.

i paid full retail for my 599 conversion and dont regret it 1 bit. i also have it set up so both bulbs fire on high beam. i do alot of riding early morning and late at night, in rain, etc and these lights are awesome with just the standard h11 bulbs. i cant even think of what the h9 bulbs would be like...

the 919 headlight used to get washed out by the street lamps as i rode by, NOT anymore!

Does anybody know if the 4" dual headlights sold on ebay will bolt up to the stock brackets? (Just type in "919 + dual + headlight). Or is there a known list of dual headlights that will work on our bikes? I think a dual conversion will be my winter project.

According to last months Cycle World, you can get dual Buell something or another model headlights, buckets and bulbs for $116. Sounds pretty cheap to me.

Check the issue with the Super Tenere on the cover. It's on Roland Sands Sportster.

No, wait, it's on John Burns R-1.
