Picked up a new camera recently....free actually...only cost me 25 years with my company.
Its a Pentax Optio W90... 12.1 MP, Takes HD Video, Waterproof to 20 ft, Shockproof, Cold proof to -10 C. You can take underwater pics and videos with it, and it's really compact.
I snuck out of work early today and tried it on the bike on one of my favorite twisty roads. Video came out pretty good. It has some kind of shake correction so the vibrations don't seem to show up as much. Watch in 720p for the best resolution. Enjoy the ride.
Very nicely done, MM. 4:16 of wanton bliss. Congrats on 25.
Thanks, what a long strange trip it's been!

Thanks. I think they retail around $300. You can find them for about $250 on the web. They just came out this year, so the prices will probably drop later.

Thanks rmb, I use just a regular Ram Type Handlebar mount like this:
I need to play around with video on my bike. I already have the mount for a radar detector. And I have a camera that shoots video. I've only used it for still shots but it's supposed to be a pretty good video camera (Panasonic DMC-GF1). I just need to find a tripod mount plate that I can cover with Velcro and I'll be able to mount either the camera or the radar detector.

Thanks CG. I looked your camera...it looks damn nice. Post up a vid once you get it mounted up.
That was freakin' awesome Mike! Excellent quality video, looked great in full size screen mode. Gin was watching over my shoulder, we enjoyed taking a ride with you through your beautiful countryside.

Will do. Right now, the 919 is on blocks. I hit a hellacious pothole that bent my rim and it's getting straightened out at the wheel shop. Taking too long!
I love my camera - got it mainly for hiking trips. It's really small - almost point & shoot size but has interchangeable lenses an a SLR-quality sensor. Cool little camera.
Other than playing around when I first got the camera, I haven't shot any video at all. When I get the bike back on the road, I might play with it. Yours turned out really nice.
Sweet. Your video gave me a 5 min break in my 40 hour shift!!! THANKS ! " Get on your bikes and ride !"

I meant to ask, what did you use for editing and adding music? Was that pretty easy to do?
I used Windows Movie Maker. It comes pre-installed on some computers with Windows. You can also get it free here
There are probably more powerful programs for video editing, but that one works for me and its easy to use.

YW sir..... 40 hour shift? I hope you get 40 hours off so you can ride the K-bike.
Queen & Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies? We're on the save wave length, bud.
The only 218 I could find is Suitland. I want to know what the second video was on!
If you come out to VA, I'll take you out around Shenandoah.
1st Video is VA-218 between Dahlgren and Fredericksburg. 2nd one is just a few twisty roads around me (Piney Church Road and Turkey Hill Road) problem is none of them are nearly long enough.
I may take you up on the Shenandoah. I love riding up there.
Holy crap. That bugger chose the second worse time to cross with vehicles coming in both directions!
FYI - I will be down your mom's way for Thanksgiving. We are doing a few days in Centreville, MD then a few days in Rehoboth. I don't think I will have a chance to say hi, but I wanted to let you know that Anna, the kids and I will be down celebrating with you!

Michael I hope you have a great Thanksgiving with your family. My family is all coming to my house this year. Let me know if you get down this way with the bike next summer.
Yep there's some used auto parts (junkyards) around there. Where you guys riding tomorrow? It's supposed to be pretty nice.
We initially wanted to hit 60 and 56 around Buena Vista...but I'm afraid we won't have the day light to finish it. So we are thinking Fort Valley Rd (see Front Royal) over to Edinburg, then Trout Run towards Wardensville. It's one of our usual runs, who knows maybe we'll still do Buena Vista.
