Man I'm suprized how many people were not catching on to him riding a CB1R. NOT a 919.

I live near you OSU dude, assuming you live in the OSU area.
I have no experience with the cb1r. I'd guess it weelies easier than the 919 so 100% throttle would be tough to do in 1st gear. Especially if not using proper riding postion for such agression. Its cold/wet/miserable out now. But i'd be happy to help answer questions in person if you wanted to come ride up by me where there is less traffic.

Also, being a preson who got a 919 as my first bike. Don't feel so bad about the cb1r yet. Its 1000 times more comfortable than a 600rr. And the smoother power delivery of the cb is nicer for beginners than peaky engines found on any RR type bike. Its also way better for the street since the power is always there if you want it. Its your right hand that decides how much you get. As aposed to an RR that no matter how much throttle you give it will be a bit of a dog if not wound up. Which come to think of it may be why you are shifting at 9k. Your buddies 600 is likely shifting at the same point. But remember, a 600 at 9k is like a 1000 at 5k.

You'll grow into the cb. It will feel slow eventually. They always do.

Yeah I was confused at first too. I have ridden a buddies cbr600rr and was really confused, thinking he was saying that the front wheel on the 919 was more difficult to keep down than the 600... I was like WTF??? That 600 scares me.... The front wheel should not get so light at 70....

Yeah I'm in Columbus. When the weather gets nice again maybe we can meet up, a friend of mine and I actually went riding this weekend but I can't see how we are going to have anymore days like that in awhile. Yea, I just need to get more ride time on my bike, but there is no doubt the cb1kr is a torque monster with very short gearing. Though it does have a very linear power delivery with no surprises.

How smooth are you on the throttle? Turns out he would go from 20% throttle mid turn to wacking it 100% open as fast as he could.

Well durrrrr

Makes me wonder about the OPs throttle control.
What's up Jeffie? Still have your Z? I'm on my350z also, my name on there is 350z400rwhp, I have the vortech supercharger, I remember seeing your install on that powerlab kit. How is it treating you? Hope all is going well.

Yup still have it. So far no problems but it's strictly a toy so it doesn't see too many miles.

Going on 3 years of being boosted.

I noticed he was on a cb1000. Still think the main problem is the wrist.

A CB1R and a bosted Z. If we meet up Im' sure we'll have plenty to talk about. Last weekend was way better weather for riding than this one will be. Its time to start searching the tire stud threads.
