Well I went outside to pull the forks off and install my new springs. Here's how it ended up.Current Build (4).jpg
I came inside and ending up ordering a 599 headlight, renthal UL's, and decided to powdercoat some bits. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic.

Installed the rearsets I made - reported on it over in the rearsets thread.

Also noticed that the drive chain has some stiff links - gotta take care of that.

Oh, MFIVE - I figured out what you should begin making in carbon fiber right away!

Tank protectors.

Screw the rest of the bodywork being converted to carbon, we need tank protectors baaaaad.

Well I changed the fluid in the primary. Then went over to see a friend at the body shop I frequent. Just so happens the owner of the local dyno tuning bike shop was there. We got to taking. He said bring my bike in. He will do parts for cost, labour for cost but I have to ride my bike to 2 shows this summer and have it as a show bike for their shop.
So I am getting an S&S 106 kit,tw6-6 cams, ported and polished heads worked over on a flow bench, jagg 10 row oil cooler, manual compression releases,a dyno tune and the pcv flip switch,to flip between a gas miser highway tune and rubber meltinf

I may have a spare tank that could be used heading this way shortly.

As for what I did today - replaced the bent handlebar, installed replacement mirrors/turn signals, replaced a blown fuse, and basically got as far as I could with repairing the damage caused by getting hit by two cars in quick succession. Have some fine tuning left to go.

I put these on a while ago, but just barely got around to doing the video. I know for some of you, this kind of stuff is like picking your nose; this is for those guys that don't know how to pick their nose.

Warning, lighting sucks at the end, sorry about that. I didn't really have another bike to put spools on to do a retake, .

Took the bike apart trying to figure out why it won't start. Replacing the plugs because they look fouled.

Just ordered a chain and sprocket kit from sprocketcenter.com Went with the 530 D.I.D ZVM-2 X-ring chain and the steel sprockets for $205.

Can't wait to get these on, my chain is pretty sloppy and I'm kinda scared to keep riding it to work until I get the new set on.

Finally did ultra lows, was such a pain in the ass though, drilling for those little pics holding the kill switch and turn signal pods on. Love the change though.

Before and after below. The overall bar measurement change from stock was noticeable but not extreme, definitely like the wider grip. One negative was that I forgot my old bar ends wouldn't fit so new bar ends with mirrors on the way

Installed .95kg fork springs, and also replaced the stock shock with a Progressive 420. The result is handling MUCH better than stock - not that this is difficult to achieve.

Man, the difference in handling, even for this noob, is night-and-day. You Ohlins guys must be on cloud nine.

Yeah, dang winter - garage is dirty as heck, too. I haven't wanted to take a dirty picture, lol. I will when we get a nice spring day. It might hit 50 next week, so maybe then.

Wouldn't know, stupid winter... . I'm still on stock front forks, though, but have a set of .95 RaceTech springs on the way, were they difficult to install?

New plugs installed!! Bike runs once again. So happy it was only the plugs. I guess the previous owner didn't really take the bike out other than to let it idle. The plugs weren't in great shape.

Wowza, ya, I don't think the center electrode is supposed to look like that, looks a bit worn.

I wouldn't be surprised if you get a hotter spark and better burn now, too.
