I initially tried friendly. I tried everything else, too. (In fact, at one point I even bought a H-D to see what the whole thing was about.)

Why do you think I have this attitude these days?????? :P

I mostly laid it down when stopping so it wasnt really crashing in the sense as I laid it out on the expressway going 10+ miles an hour it was more rider error and had "crash bars" lol except for the rigid. lol

I see it simply your not going to get alonge with everyone hell i get alonge with some sportsbike riders more then I get alonge with the HD crowd in my area but im also broke working on my own bikes.

Had to add this in :P

I have a 3/4 helmet it stays at home to protect the house :P

sorry spade, any time i think of a bike coming into contact with the ground other than tires and stopping, is crashing no matter how you cut the cake. "laying it down" is just a fancy way of basically saying "shit i lost control so i'm just gonna hit the road and slide to a stop."

there's no difference between sportbike riders and cruiser riders. if you lay it down, you wrecked, end of discussion lol.

Thats cool :P But most of minewere still at a 45 degree angle cant lean over a roadking too far with bars o.0 .... lol

There is a difference though :P

A sportsbike you can drag knee, so once the seat hits the ground you crashed. :P Could always be a "Controlled cornering technique"

and what are the bar's job? to protect the bike in case you wrecked, regardless of lean angle. if you damaged the bars by leaning over too far, then you wrecked lol.

When you lean tight I dont think your hands run the ground o.0 but I could be wronge I leaned the 550 I had once and it bothered me because I could see the gravel real close. so I never did it again lol

When I hear "I laid it down", this is a lowside, I agree, it's still a crash if any part other than the tires makes contact with the road. In my book, a hhighside is a "really bad" crash. No offence intended but is sounds like a "lowside" is a cool thing to do within some of the HD crowd... I'll never understand this.

Hi Guys,

I think that "laying it down" should only apply to " I-forgot-to-put-the-kickstand-out..." and S**T down it is... precious bike, not the kickstand...
I am not proud - it happened to me...

When I crashed (doing 15-20 mph), the only thing I could see was dirt as I was scraping the the ground with my helmet. The visor holder became a scoop for grass and soil alike. After getting up my only thought was: "Can I ride back home, or do I need to call someone with a Pick-up?" to literally pick me and my bike up...

The worst however (for me, not having sustained any injuries) was my heavily bruised ego though... My bike is still not up and running and that's what really makes me sad.
