Always loved the Rokon Trailbreaker (and at first I thought that this was just a modified one), but this thing puts the Rokon to shame. Sign me up for one if it lands on our shores.
Pretty easily: it doesn't. For magnets to generate an electrical current in metal they have to be moving. There is a battery hidden (pretty poorly) just behind the front-most magnet.
Edit: lol, just watched the second half - what I had thought was the battery was actually just the backing, but I can guarantee that there was one in there somewhere. They probably just pulled the battery out when they cut scenes.
Electromagnets work by running current through a coil of wire to create a magnetic field. I did a quick search but can't find anything - this seems to be an experiment to prove that putting a coil of wire into a magnetic field can create current.
But I thought either the coil or magnet had to move. I've see the "shake flashlight" and wind up types, but the coil is clearly not moving.
I was wondering if maybe it's a copper tube with something in it or it were frozen and warmed with something in the copper tube (if it is a tube).
Also, what's the pig tail on top for?
If this actually works with that kind of bulb, that could be a great LED flashlight but we have no idea how long it lasts.
