They gave me 5100 Trade-in and 7689 Purchase price on a Brand new VFR, so it was an obvious choice to make the deal and never look back. Yes I'll miss the 919, but It's been on the chopping block for some time now in search of a R1200R. But the local deal for the R1200R thinks his new 2007 model is still worthy of Full Retail and used one's are not easy to come by. So I started thinking of the new VFR1200, but the price kept it out of reach. I just happened into a dealer that I don't really like or care to shop at and they just got in a New 2007 25th Anniversary VFR from Honda. I looked, drooled, dreamed then seen the price!!!! WTH? I like what I see, so we talked and negoitated a little till we made an agreement.
Would you know, the insurance is 109 bucks a year cheaper. So now I only pay 246 a year for full coverage!!!
Anyway..... I'm very excited about this, even more than I was when I got the 919!
Meet me in Nashville In sometime. I'll let you ride the Super Duke if you'll let me at the Interceptor. We'll go down 135 to 450. I'll bet some of the Indy hoodlums will join in.
Life is a schmorgasborg. Change is good. Congrats.
In 1915 T. Roosevelt said, in a speech to the KofC, "There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all. "
That's a good looking bike!
I bought an '84 VFR1000-F back when they were new (see icon to the left).... LOTS of fun! Heavy by today's standards, though still lots of fun!
I started looking for the side luggage and boy O' boy. that's gonna be a long search, because they either don't make it anymore or it is just out of stock everywhere.

I could look at that Red/White/Blue combo all day. My dealer had a 25th Anniversary VFR and i nearly traded the 919 for it. To me, it'll always 'be the one that got away.'

Bravo again, welcome to the club. I got mine in April 2007, when I went in for service on my 599, saw the VFR on the floor, asked a few "dumb" questions, next thing you know, the sales guy is outside appraising my ride, made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I am still very happy with that trade.
I've lost track of all the nostalgic comments from guys who owned the 80's version. I also get a lot of thumbs up from teenagers in slammed civics. Everyone seems to love that bike, me first.
Hope to see you on the road this summer.

Its Honda New Zealand, not the individual dealerships. Basically a set price nationwide, sometimes with room for negotiation (not much) once you sit down and talk.
