So for the first time in a couple of months, we're having a spell of great weather. And by great, I mean February in Seattle having sun in the high to mid 50s for a week. Knock on wood
I haven't gone in a full-day ride nor have I even ridden in the last 2 months and Sunday looks promising. I'm worried about the higher rate of drunk drivers on the road for the big game though.... Riding to the Olympic Peninsula sounds like a good way to spend the day, but maybe I should wait for another weekend and just go to a BBQ. Thoughts?

I'm not far from you and loving this stretch of nice weather also! I rode to work today and plan to ride again tomorrow and part of Sunday.
For the game, I wouldn't be worried about drunken idiots until after the game. I'd TiVo the game and go ride until dark - the roads should be mostly clear while everyone is watching the game.
Where are you going on the Olympic Peninsula? The loop around the perimeter is longer than it seems and doesn't seem that it would be much fun on a bike. I spent 2 days driving it last summer and the only place I wished I had my bike was on Hwy 112 between Neah Bay and Port Angeles. Don't get me wrong, there is LOTS of gorgeous scenery!! but the roads are mostly straight and unexciting.
Where are you in Seattle? There are a lot of fun twisty roads much closer to you.
Have a great ride wherever you end up!!
where are they going? you guy finally getting rid of them?

Lucky you! I had no idea they were coming anywhere close to MD. Of course, I would never have an idea if I didn't try and find out.
I'm not into Football. Going to a party for the homemade wings, though.
Well... have to charge the battery and see if she turns over. Lines won't even prime, so bump starting didn't work. I think I'll just take her out around town and be back by 2 for food and kickoff at a buddies house. TBH, I could care less of either team winning, it's about the dos equis, ceviche, and wings!
MD: here's the route I was thinking. Definitely 112 to Neah Bay if you're going way out, but there are also a lot of old paved logging roads that cuts through in between the highways. I forget which site it was, but a group of sportsriders mapped out around the lakes on the north side of 101 to Neah Bay and back. That'll be for the warmer months though
I'm between Tukwila and Renton by Fosters Golf Course.

I'm not familiear with A Day To Rememeber, but I've seen Rise Against quite a few times over the years. They always put on a great show!

If you rode that route on Saturday you probably would have come across my brother on his FZ1. He did about 250 miles on those same roads yesterday, and said it was a lot of fun.
I'm just a few miles east of you, in the Renton highlands.
I went to a superbowl party just for the food and to hang out with friends. There were a few tricked-out tuner cars and European cars there (Audi, VW, BMW...), plus there were a number of guys that ride and the homeowner had a TL1000R, so a few of us spent most of the game in the garage talking about bikes and cars and planning some summer rides.
The word we got from the football fans inside the house was that the first half of the game was boring and the halftime show sucked. I watched the last quarter and it was decent. I'm not a football fan and this was the only game I've watched since the superbowl a few years ago, so I'm not a good judge anyway.
1st half was boring like their last Superbowl meet (NYG and NE). 2nd half, particularly 4th quarter, was a damn good one. I thought the halftime show stage effects was decent (use of projectors), not a big fan of Madonna though. All that was for controversy was a middle finger by one of the performers, no Janet moments.
I didn't get to go for a ride; bike would not start even with a charged battery. The starter would just spin freely without turning over the engine... Gonna try and check a few things later tonight and if still no luck, new thread.
