Just got off the phone with the guy. Needs a petcock, lockset (no keys), electrical work, busted signals..ect...ect. I'd buy it to play with if he was next door...Not worth the 8hr drive for me though....

sidi vertigo boots

I just scored these new boots for $120. The dude bought them online, and before they shipped to his house, he wrecked his bike and broke his ankles. THAT SUCKS. Worth $300, I got them for $120, in my size 12. Im happy.

very very comfortable. Very adjustable. The vent actually works VERY well. I had the vent open today and found my feet too cold. So i closed the vent and I was nice and warm.

If I hadn't of scored my deal on the Ohlins, I would have said something like "you suck".

Nice nab! I really like the looks of those boots. Are they true to size? I'm an 11.5 and I wonder if they run large or small.

You BOTH scored great deals!
I've been using the Sidi B2 (now called the Fusion) boot, which is a couple steps below the Vertigo, for 5+ years with no issues. You'll get MANY miles of enjoyment out of them!

I had B2's, dumped them off after 1 ride. I've got 20k+ miles on my Vertigo Air, they are comfortable but aren't as sturdy as my old A* SMX Plus boots. Need me some winter boots now

I found all of the parts from my stolen xt225 on a different frame on Craigslist. I even asked the guy for bigger pictures and all the scratches on my tank and plastics matched photos I had of my bike before it was stolen. Police picked it up the next day, and I settled out of court for more than it was was worth. It wasn't even running when it was stolen

Not sure of the pricing or rarity, but it would definitely be one for restoration/collectors

Same thing, isn't it?

Thinking of picking this up, HOWEVER, I can't tell by his description or the pictures if the busted thread mount means that the engine casing is damaged?

Or just a busted off bolt?

How hard is it to weld up something in that area and re-tap it for a bolt?

case looks fucked... if you look closely at the very bottom right side of the hole, you'll notice one of the bolt hole mounts is nearly broken clean off. you could get it welded but if the weld isn't perfect, it'll leak oil forever (been there done that). he's asking way too much for a busted case.

and plus "street fighter it'? wtf.. it's already naked!

I've been texting him a bit the last half hour. Engine case is clean, just busted bolt, I can pull that out.

Tank is cracked, would need to be welded to hold fuel (I'm thinking replaced).

Pretty much everything from the bars up I would probably replace; cluster, bars, indicators, m/c, levers, grips.

Forks are straight, tires good, new chain and sprocket.

Best thing is, title is still CLEAN.

I figure I could put $1000 into it and have a good bike.

Thoughts?

For my wife. She's a beginner rider and I don't really feel comfortable when she takes my 919 for a spin, lol.

I'm like Bobby, only the roles are reversed .

which it is really too bad, because I emailed him asking if he would sell just the headlight. I doubt he would. But it was worth a try

Going to go look at it on Tuesday probably. Have a semi-firm offer on it, I'll see if I can talk him down to $850 or so.

Yeah, I'm worried. Sufficiently paranoid to put it better. He says the case is flush, not broken.

When it wrecked, he said it had tipped upside down in the woods and was leaking gas but still running. He turned it off immediately, but hasn't even cranked it since the wreck. He said it did not seize, it was still running.

If that side cover is cracked, I might still buy it, just talk him down to 800 or so.

Just thinking of what the parts are worth.... 599 headlight anyone?
