I have the bafflectomy on mine, and hearing video clips on the Danmoto's my vote is for the Dan's being louder.
The bafflectomy is the perfect amount of noise and growl for me.

Yeah same here, couldn't spend 5-8 hundred on some new pipes. Ectomy those baffles brother! I think it sounds pretty damn good.

2nd that. The gutted ones PV sent me last summer sound quite nice.
they're not totally cleaned out btw. just a couple of baffles taken out. Love it though. I will probably still but danmotos when I get some spare cash.
When you run into that spare cash for the dan motos, shoot me a PM. If I happen to stumble across some cash at the same time I'd consider asking you to pass those gutted cans along if they're still in good condition. Haha.
keep it stock, i love the stealth mode i can pull on my 919 haha.
i do have an extra set of stockers... one of which i have cut up and gutted the last 2 of the 3 internal sections of the exhaust... SOMEDAY ill get around to welding it all back up and seeing if i like the growl.
Dan's are louder but in a better sound kind of way. They're just a little mean. Loved the bafflectomy, but love the motos more. Still got some de-baffled stock pipes for grabs... just pay shipping!
Going to gut some that I'm getting soon thanks for all the replys I was just kind of curious on it because you tube videos dont really do justice with the sounds
did this of mine last year. on the gutted ones, the audio cuts out because the mic has issues picking up the low notes and volume. Definitely gives you a good idea though. Especially if you play it through something with a subwoofer.
I've had stock, bafflectomied it and just ordered the DanMoto JISU Black Carbon. Once I get the 900RR header/mid and the DanMoto on, I'll let you know my impressions.
I kept the stock "stealth" mode for a couple years then decided to try the baffelectomy. I liked it a lot better but wanted more growl so finally went ahead and got some Micron cans off another member here. Love em but don't think you can get them anymore.. Kinda like satos.. Don't think you can go wrong with the Dan's, they sound mean and the price is right.

If you can, post a video. I am quite interested in how the jisu pipes sound.
I'll see what I can do...
Once I get it all put together, I'll run it up to Sabin Performance and have it dyno tuned. I'll get some nasty clips of it whailing on the roller and an Idle clip with some blips.
BTW, I checked with DanMoto and the R1 pipe is 2.4" OD and he says it should slip over the 900rr mid once I lop off the flange...

When I emailed them I asked them if they made inlet pipes to fit. I told them the OD of the 900rr was just barely shy of 61mm (according to a cheap plastic gauge) and that I'd probably need a 63mm Inlet to fit. They said that it would be no problem to get what I needed to fit.
Oh, whatever size pipe that you do end up ordering post up as I have not purchased mine yet and was interested in just how snug the fit would be as I would like for the fit to be solid.
Yeah, I'll let you know. Now that I look at the e-mail, the guy may have been telling me the 900rr pipe is 60mm OD, but he def said that the R1 will slip over. He said, worst case, I can nip off the end of the RR pipe, weld the last 10cm of the kit mid pipe to it and bolt it on that way. Given the dimensions, though, he said I should be able to slip it over and weld it or clamp it. I'll post up what I decide to do and how it mates up.
61 inner (midpipe) and 63 outer (can) were exactly my dimensions. To really seal it off, you'll need some permatex or something.
So the Outside Diameter of your can inlet is 63mm correct? or the Inside Diameter is 63mm.
I know sorry for all the questions, I'd much rather just be able to slap the pipe on and go, and not have to worry about taking it to muffler shop to have either pipe or can stretched.

hellifiknow. Too many innies and outies talk here, lol.
63mm was listed on the can specs (not sure if that was OD or ID) and OD of the mid-pipe was 61.
The R1 danmoto pipe came today. Identical diameter to the 900rr. Angle looks pretty close, too. May just have to cut and clamp. I'll let y'all know in a bit and try to post some pics.

Ok, I took some pics, but can't upload them from my work computer or my iPhone (unless someone knows a trick I don't...highly likely!)
I nipped off the flang end of the 900rr pipe and ground down some of the high temp paint around the edges and the coupling end of the R1 mid slid right over once I hit it with the pipe expander to round it back out.(R1 DanMoto end has a pipe end that slides in the muffler and a slit/expanded coupling end, FYI) It was a little oblong at both ends, actually.
I then cut off as much of the R1 mid pipe as I needed for the alignment I wanted for now. The slight angle of the R1 mid after the coupling end actually helped me line things up without breaking out the welder, making any cuts or pulling the header. I used the springs hooks from the kit, with one in the slit of the couple end held down by the band and the other on the T-bolt band loop to lock the pipe on to the mid I'd cut to length.
I found a bracket from...something, (probably a mustang) in my box of "factory extras" that just happened to have a nice angle on it and almost identical width as the 2 bolts holding that useless passenger peg bar thingy on, so it got removed and the bracket went on. I superglued the ruber on the can strap, worked it to the right shape and bolted her up. (see Avitar till I can post some good pics and hopefully clips soon. I'll chew on this location for a bit and then see if I want to move it. Header gaskets are cheap and I have a welder...)
After that, I wired up the PCIII I got from the Good Sir CBnot. She fired right up and I went to bed and tried to sleep. It was midnight, but I was excited to take it for a spin and see what she sounds like opened up! (Getting a full on tune on the 13th, if needed...feels damn good right now with the PCIII as it was sent to me tuned for slip on and K&N)
My first ride this morning...
I sounds so deep and mean, but not out of hand at idle and barely above while working my way out of the hood. With a little throttle, it sounds deep and menacing, but when you open it up, thing sounds like SEX, covered in butter and sprinkled with powder sugar!! It felt more powerfull and it was smooth as silk and clean! I love how deep it is now. I hear they loosen up a bit after a month or so...we'll see how it is once broken in.
All I can say is, best $205($135 for the DanMoto & $70 shipped for the 900RR header/mid) I've spent on the bike yet!
You ever lean that bad boy over? Awful thin wear line on that rear! Or just shitty angle and dirt? Bike looks mint though! Glad those risers kicked ya into gear with that drag bar! How's that workin' out for you? And is your headlight different?
I did the same exhaust conversion you did with the 900rr headers, even had them ceramic coated. I bought a boz brothers muffler from iron pony, Columbus Ohio, for 120 bucks on clearance (boz brothers fell under the crushing weight of recession) and it sounds amazing with a deep rich throbbing tone. If anyone is looking for a cheap yet very effective muffler it's a great one to use and probably more of the out there waiting to be used. Www.ironpony.com had them for awhile.
I just went to www.ironpony.com to check an they still have a bunch of them but now their $70 bucks PLEASE PEOPLE BUY EM UP! That's almost down to half of what I paid for mine! I used the one off of a GSXR 1000 on my 919.
Just search by brand on the left of the iron pony page, click boz bros then find the one with a 2" pipe size that's slip on and not close style, should be the gxsr 1000 pipe
