American chopper BUILD OFF. whos the best?

can we get a poll for that show? I'm curious for those who watch american chopper, which bike did you like?

In my opinion for bikes its

1. PJD
2. J. James
3. OCC

I only say this because OCC didn't really build a bike. just a sweet freaking toy. that being said, in terms of my favorite "vehicles" its

1.PJD
2. OCC
3. J. James

I just finished watching it too. I didn't like any of them I guess.

The OCC one looked like it be fun as all hell to toy around with, but that's it. The front looked stupid as shit. It vibe'd like crazy too. Just made it look cheap.

The PJD one was alright. I wish they would've found some miracle way to put the actual exhaust into the tank though, I was damned curious to see how that would work out. The finished bike looked weird. HUGE wheels. Just meh.

JJ's bike looked more uncomfortable than a pinecone in the ass. I still think his was better PJD's because it looked simpler, more like an actual bike. His attitude probably made my choice subconsciously, but he's a damn funny guy.

I think PJD will win. It's all a popularity contest, and he pulls in the most fans. The OCC bike will get tons of shit from the other guys for not being a bike. JJ will call the PJD bike a cake or whatever, and he'll defend himself by saying, "it's different and never been done". Yadda yadda yadda

JJ just screams him and his style. I like it. I would love it if it had a suicide shifter on it.

PJD it just way to fun to look at but I would never want to ride it

OCC is pulling bullshit out of their asses. Build a bike was the challenge. They said "lets rip off the new Bat Bike." As stated they made an awesome toy but they didn't build a bike and should be disqualified.

I didn't watch it at all, but looked it up on the Discovery website. Decided not to vote. As you guys stated OCC just made a movie prop, PJD made a giant wheeled monstrosity, and JJ just made the classic chopper he's made a thousands times before (can you even see over the forks?) For OCC and PJD, I think they're trying to "innovate" but instead they're just being gimmicky, oh look it has flames and treads! Oh look big wheels! I really felt that PJD could have come up with something a lot better as they have in the past, but as it stands now I wouldn't ride any of their bikes for more than 5 minutes.

It wasn't the build off bike, but that Arabian Horse bike that OCC built was the dumbest looking thing I have ever seen.

I stopped watching that show a few years ago. I think I could build one like they do in my garage. The show looks like they actually fab up a few things, but order the rest.

When OCC stopped fabricating everything in house I started not to watch as much. The turn point for when I stopped watching was when it came time to build a bike for a Vet who had won a raffle on discovery to get a bike built, Sr came out and said "we are going to use our stock frame and as much stuff as stock as possible. Only fabricate what we have to." and it pissed me off. This bike is for a vet and you couldn't be bothered to put any time into it. Another bike was being built and they went full out for that one. Custom everything. I turned it off and only started to psudo watch it after PJ went off on his own and brought Vinny back.

I actually like the PJD bike. I like his artistry in especially that bike. Very detailed, very imaginative, and looks great. Wouldn't ride it, as it is a show bike, but very clever in the use of different metals and shapes. The OCC thing is a joke. Build a bike and they build, no they didn't build, they assembled a TOY. I'm amazed that TDC allowed tham to build something that didn't even comply with the challenge. Build a bike not a snowmobile. NOw JJ's bike is typical of what he builds. High nose, long forks, with ape bars. No question that he builds a great6 bike, but to me PJD wins on design, imagination, and combining different metals and styles. JJ is second and OCC is disqualified for not building a bike.

Couldn't agree more. Always said it was just the Three Stooges building unrideable bikes...

ya any of these tv "custom bike builders" dont really make me go wow thats awesome.... they take the simple ass harley motors... no fuel injection most of the time no rear suspension and typically the most simplistic front end possible. Not much in the way of fabrication... i have seen better fab done from members on here.

well i watched the live show last night, PJD 1 JJ 2 and OCC 3. like everyone said.
i liked PJD the most, yea i know its not a "rider" but none of them are. watching JJ ride that stupid freak of a bike he has to look around the forks as he cannot see over them, and he has the nerve to give Jr shat about a 1 gallon tank. his does not look much bigger, not that it matters u could not ride any of them more that 10 miles before you could not move. at least Jrs would look good in you living room. (providing you drained all the oil out so it would not stain your floors)

Jesse James cracks me up, hopefully all the fab work he's done will push the other two shops to start doing the same.
You guys are right though, it's sad to see parts being delivered piece by piece and being slapped on the bike.

They had to go crazy on the build-off, so I understand how far 'outside of the box' they had to go. I'm hoping that the new episodes will show their regular productions like before.

Just my opinion, but I don't see any issues with CADing designs.

dont think one of them had a harley motor....all i remember was my vtwin pulling all the metrics i meet on the highway up to 120 mph...after that who cares... ...the look of shock on there face was priceless... Watching them down shift and losing ground was double priceless....when a 800 pound bike outpulls a 919 or gen 1 max or gsxr...thats when you know who has the beef and who dont

My son was watching so I watched for old time's sake. Haven't really looked at it for years. Don't see how those pipes through the tank on the PJD bike won't eventually heat up enough to cause risk of explosion. I'm sure they insulated them somehow. I'm also equally sure that no actual engineer checked the specs to make sure the thing wouldn't combust at some point. My problem with the PJD bike -- besides the giant wheels everyone has already commented upon -- is that it's yet another themed bike. Can't the guy build anything without it having a stupid theme? Just make a great looking bike without a gimmick to hang it on, for God's sake.

Jesse's bike looked great until he sat on it. Geez. Like everyone mentioned, who the heck would want to ride it? You can't see over the top of the forks, and the riding position is a joke. Suspension? What are you, a wuss?! Credit for all the fabrication work. The final product is just as unrideable as PJD's.

That OCC thing was a joke. I think he put it together to throw the competition. He couldn't really lose if he came up with something that didn't even resemble a bike that could be beaten by Paul Jr. and Jesse both.

My vote: JJ, PJD, OCC

I looked and this was the only one I could find. It was on the same show where they did the 911 Memorial Bike. It was hideous.

Some of it's in this video

lol... the HP and torque curves on those big 1600+ CC harley twins are so Peaky that if you were to say take an average over the rpm range used (say 25% on either side of the peak) a standard 1000cc supersport's numbers would probably come out better.

not saying a twin isnt a bad design... just the harley air cooled 2 valve setup is a joke IMO. These guys call themselves professional bike builders and amazing fabricators... yet they use the simplest motor design so they dont actually have to do much out of the box fabrication.

Yep, a fuel cell under the seat, it turns out. Guess I fell asleep during that part of the build. PJD wins the vote. Eh. I just don't get the idea of doing a bike that no one can comfortably ride. Even Jesse's bike isn't rideable for more than 30 min. What's the point? Are they trying to make metal sculpture that resembles a motorcycle? Then just do away with the engine and suspension and brakes entirely. Oh, wait. That's what OCC did. Geez. What a joke.

Don't most custom builders use S&S motors? Not sure how "Harley based" they are.

I know people talk alot about how unrideable occ and pjd bikes are, but they are not in the business of building ride-able bikes. They build show bikes. If they talked about how the bikes are daily riders, then I'd shit on them too.

builders give buyers the choice what motor they want to use...if building from ground up....S&S is harley based like all american v twins...lots of harley parts can be used with s&s motors and others...i seen occ use all makes of motors in there build from the tv show
