Weekend trip thru the NC/TN mountains......

Dang!!! Hey I made it back in one piece doing a NC/TN mountain ride. I spent the night in Marion NC on Saturday to Sunday. Rode all day Sunday over to Cherokee NC and then Gatlinburg TN, Newport and take 25/70 back into NC, then 19 to Spruce Pine hit NC80 and 226A before heading to Marion. Colors were amazing in the mountains and there was still some snow is some areas. Going from NC to Tn on 411 was pretty good, but the traffic going in the opposite direction was bumper to bumper. I totaled about 750 miles of riding time, stopped off and had a bite to eat st Smokey's sports bar. I want to do that again and plan for a stop at the bike musum in Maggie Valley. This was a must do ride..."do over..." Here goes some pic that I took. Enjoy !!!

Great picks! I haven't been to the NC mountains (other than driving through for business) since 08'. Stayed in Murphy also. My wife and I did a waterfall tour.

Next trip you plan, let me know! We're practically neighbors! I drive past Knightdale on I-540 every Monday to play hockey in Wake Forest! LOL

My 06 Concours has a 7.5 gal tank and I can get about 43-45 miles to the gallon. I normally cruise at 75-80 on slab.

Yep Shmoo, There was snow on top of those mountains, not a lot nothing on the roads just grass and branches.

NealC I sure will

Cheers
Ron
