Olympic Peninsula - Washington State

This weekend my wife and I decided to do 'the Loop' around the Olympic Peninsula. Here's the route we took. We went for 2 days - 550 miles.

There was A LOT of amazing scenery, but the main loop (Hwy 101) has miles of straight roads and is actually kinda boring (especially for a motorcycle), but the northern-most highways (Hwy 112 & 113) are winding and definitely worthwhile.

The Olympic Peninsula has 3 distinct eco-systems - Pacific Ocean beaches, Olympic rain forest, and Olympic mountain range - all within 100 miles.

Our first stop was the rain forest at Quinalt

After the rain forest we went to Klaloch Beach and Ruby Beach

Then we headed to Cape Flattery, Neah Bay

Day 2

We drove up to Hurricane ridge to view the Olympic mountain range.

There were other areas that we didn't have time for, so we'll head back for another weekend of hiking through the Hoh Rainforest, around Lake Crescent, Ozette Lake, and a few more waterfalls.
