My birthday ride

Went up the mountain on my birthday, May 12. My day was quite an adventure.
got my sound processor back from Alpine, so i installed that real quick in my car, then i suited up.
headed out, rode from Va beach where i keep my bike, all the way to the blue ridge parkway, via I-64, US 60, Rt 56. rode the parkway for a while then headed back, on the way back i topped off at a gas station on 56, and i guess i didnt secure my camel back pocket properly and my wallet and keys went flying. so when im almost at Richmond still on US-60 my gas light comes on, and what do you know i realize my trash is gone.

So luckily i had my phone, my camera and $11.xx cash on me, so i filled it, got $8.50 in, took the $2.xx and milked it, all the way around Richmond, viw 150 South and 95 north, down I-64 and actually made it to Hampton. I think only because i tried to keep it below 5500 rpm because i think thats where the 2nd injectors kick in, and stayed in a full tuck and drafted off everything from cars to trailers. Before i pulled off after gasing up, the last sign i saw said 141 miles to va beach, i honestly did not think id make it as far as Hampton, which is like 25 miles or so from va beach, called a friend to spot me a tank and went to va beach, got the key to the storage unit from my boy's wife, locked up my bike, grabbed my car keys and went and crashed on their couch.

Just got home, got them to let me in my apt, and im gonna have to pay like $50 to have my mailbox lock changed. and $30 for the door, the later i may not do.

all cards canceled, no funny transactions, and im about to go to DMV.
i covered about 600+ miles my tire has a flat spot
everywhere from my knees up hurts, rode in my full suit, my puma boots, which are extremely comfy, but heavy, back protector and all.

I wasnt even mad about the wallet, because i was so terrified of crashing on that damn road i was just happy to be back on HWYs without any incidents, except a few oh snap moments.

oh its just a few overlooking the parkway man, nothing much.
i didnt want to stop on 56 it was too fun, too scary.

It def is the best road ive been on also, and yes, 2nd gear does feel like too much coming down, hence the oh sh!t moments.
The elevation changes the corners, its just ridiculous. i mean i was in 2nd gear and the bike was making that deep growling sound because the revs were so low, i think i actually took a few of them turns in 1st gear.

There was minor gravel in some corners going up and coming down the hill, i guess from where trailers and whatever went too deep and kicked up lil rocks into the road. nothing crazy, just enough for that added bit of caution.

After talking to Ron on the phone this afternoon.....
Well, his experience was similar to mine. You cannot find the words.
I cannot express just how rediculously fun and challenging this road is.

Also, I cannot express how hard Ron had me laughing as he is explaining his methods for conserving fuel all the way home on the bike.

I wish I was there to witness it.

Also, I doubt we will ever get good pictures from this road. You might get video, but only an idot would stop on one of the blind cirves and there are no straights between them. Plus, you do not want to stop your rythm.

He rode the route I posted a couple weeks ago.
And......
I encourage noone to ride it alone. If something goes wrong, there is little room for error.

Yeah i wouldnt ride it alone, i dont know what i was thinking, i would do it again but honestly, its not worth the flat spot on my rear tire so i would def trailer to the other side of richmond atleast. Get a trailer and i'll go with you if i have the time, but im not riding that thing in anything less than a full suit.

I rode 64W into richmond, > 95 south, then 150 north > 60 west, until your basically about to fasll asleep, and bam, just like that, turn right unto 56 at the little gas station. and from there, you just have fun to the blueridge parkway.

Lemonhead, i do not have a deathwish and i do love my bike A LOT.

Couple times i though i was gonna fall asleep drafting people down 64 to save gas.
head on my fist, fist on the tank, right hand on throttle, feet dangling from pegs, and ooooo sooo tired, plus all the wind was gone in the tuck and from the vehicle infront.
def not one of my smartest moves.
